Commercial Description:
The 2007 Anniversary Ale features prominent usage of Cascade hops– the signature hop used in Sierra Nevada’s most popular product, Pale Ale. It is an American Style IPA with a big, fragrant pine and citrus hop aroma balanced by the sweetness of two-row pale and caramel malt. It finishes with an additional Cascade dry-hopping creating a big hop aroma Sierra Nevada fans will look forward to.

Great Beer! A really nice hoppy aroma..I didn’t bother to pour into a glass, so I can’t comment on the appearance. However, the flavor is awesome! This is a hint of citrus and a very bitter hop induced flavor. This is a nice easy drinking IPA

Get it whilst you can. This is an autumnal (fall) beer that has a limited release, I am happy to have been able to get my hands on a six pack for 2009, I was too slow last year.

Hoppy and sharp. Dry with a hint of lingering bitter. Decent but not great.

Bottle. Pours golden with a massive white head that slowly retreated. Plenty of citrusy American hops and a light bready malt backbone and a touch of caramel. It’s still feels pretty fresh in the bottle. Good solid bitterness in mouthfeel as well. Nice fruity and pine finish. A very tasty IPA.

Pours orange with a small white head that settles quickly. Nose has a heap of robust citrus hops, grapefruit & orange with pine. Palate has a nice amount of carb that suits the robust hop profile, though does finish a touch sticky. Some toffee malt presence hides beneath the cascade hops. Finishes with med/high citrus/pine hop bitterness, almost tending to herbally. Excellent beer, bursting with hops despite the questionable bottle age.

bottle at the twisted hop. no idea how old the bottle was. aroma much more condensed and almost confected orangey cascade than the 3 boys IPA i had next to it. bitter and citric, with a slightly syruppy malt body. plenty of intensity of flavour, just all a bit tinny tasting and short on the palate.

Bottle. 2009. Pours clear golden orange with a large foamy beige head that lasts well and leaves a lot of lace. Hoppy aroma has notes of passionfruit, grapefruit, caramel and pine. Flavour is also quite hoppy but the malt is fairly prominent as well. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation and lots of hoppy, fruity bitterness all the way across the palate. A very nice IPA, a bit unbalanced in favour of the hoppy bitterness, but I still enjoyed it a lot.

2009 version. Amber, off white head. Low bead. Caramel and firm citrus/ herbal/ spruce hop nose. Quite assertive grapefruit bitterness nearly overwhelms the malt. Thin body. A little unbalanced for me.

Pours mostly clear orange with a big frothy beige head that lasts throughout the life of the beer. Aroma- mild pine, orange, otehr sweet citrus. Compared next to a Sierra Pale, this beer is a bit thinner with medium carbonation and a creamy texture. Taste is mild hop citrus and bitterness with good caramel blance. Slightly more bitter than the pale but surprisingly not much more. A lighter IPA and very sessionable.
