3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours golden with nice frothy lasting head. Quality, textbook looking DIPA. Aroma follows suit with scents of pine, peach and florals. Also cameos in form of bread and cereals. Taste is very sweet initially: honey, tangerine, apricot. Follows with some caramel malt. Bitterness is medicinal and a little transient. The blend of flavor is nice but needs a little more permanence.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle from the Torpedo room. Pours crystal clear pale orange, large pillowy white head, dissipates slowly leaving great lacing. Aroma is not strong and has a lot of grassy notes, some floral, a bit of pine, grains. Flavor is quite sweet, lots of honey notes, floral and grassy. Light plus bitter, not harsh. Medium body, a bit oily in the mouth. This is certainly not your everyday DIPA - much much more floral than is typical, and with a healthy dose of malty sweetness. Just not doing it for me.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at the Torpedo Room. It pours a very clear pale gold color with a white head. The aroma is lightly piney with wet grass and sweaty fruit. The flavor is kind of earthy/piney/grassy with hints of summer fruit and heavy pale maltiness. Only a touch of crystal. It has a thick body, but finishes very clean and dry.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
750 ml bottle from the SN gift shop. The aroma is actually more rich caramel malt than hops, but thereís definitely some green grassy notes. This might be because Iíve had this for awhile (longer than I should have). Beautiful crystal clear golden yellow with a foamy white head. The hops really get kicked up in the taste with a powerful spiciness. Pine dryness stands out along with a slight grapefruit note. Thereís just enough light caramel sweetness to tame the bitterness ever so slightly. The body is slightly creamy but not thick at all, in fact a bit thin for all the flavor here. Finishes dry and spicy with a lasting pleasant bitterness. Kind of like a lighter version of Hoptimum and just as delicious.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
750ml bottle from the SN. Clear golden yellow with a dense white head. Aroma is pine resin, floral, citrus and some mild cereal grain. Flavor is all about the hops, lots of bitterness throughout with some light alcohol warming and just a faint malt sweetness. Medium body with average carbonation and a dry finish. Very nice IIPA, the malt is definitely in the background in this one and the hops are right in your face.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bomber from Liz (who got it at SN). Pours clear darkish gold with a slight bubbly/creamy white head. Aroma overwhelms the nose with lots of floral and mildly citrus hop. Caramel barely discernible. Full bodied. Hop burn in the mouth. Still think itís floral and citrus, but the hop is so strong there could well be resin hiding within. Itís indeed NW strong, but it is fairly smooth and non-harsh. So it trumps most NW DIPAs. Damn but it is hoppy. Without burning anything. Super "drinkable hop-bomb". Brilliant ale.
