750ml bottle. Rating #140. Pretty damn good BA barley wine. Great aroma, nice bit of hops still. The whiskey barrel kinda takes something away from what a bourbon barrel delivers, but still tasty. (2670)

UPDATED: APR 11, 2013 750 ml. corked n’ caged bottle- Pours very hazy dark ruby red with a thin white head. Aroma is in your face barrel aged malty barley wine, cherries, strong wood, vanilla, very complex. The taste is very mellow for Bigfoot, strong in wood, vanilla, cherry, but so very smooth. I do get the coconut, which is weird, how does that happen without there actually being coconut in it. Body is surprisingly medium, or should I say slightly lighter than expected, and carbonation is medium as well. I really enjoyed this, even better than regular old Bigfoot, which i am very fond of, the beer that first got me in to craft beer in the first place.

Better than the non-barrel-aged variety. Toffee aroma and flavor. Bourbon infusion just adds. Slightly boozy, and slightly alcohol hot if you will, but well balanced and quite good.

Draft @ Jupiter Sour Sunday, Jupiter, Berkeley, CA. Pours a deep reddish amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty woody caramel aroma with weak hoppy hints. Sweetish malty woody bourbon vanilla caramel flavor with weak bitter hoppy hints. Has a sweetish malty woody bourbon and caramel finish.

750 shared at Craft Ale House. Clear copper pour,, looking a lot like bourbon. Nose is huge and complex; with huge oaky whiskey notes, vanilla, plum, spirity heat. I could smell this one for hours. Tastes rich, complex, with big oaky and whiskey flavors up front, some mid-palate heat, vanilla, plum, hops, figgy fruit, and a smooth, powerful finish. This is one of the best beers I have quaffed.
4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 Thewade (176) - USA - MAR 31, 2013
Superb. I’m a big fan of Bigfoot, and this is just Nasty (in a good way). Loved sharing this with 2 friends. Smoothe, but not for the weak pallated beer drinkers of the world.

(Critique chaotique du extreme beer fest 2013): Les houblons sont très présents, juste un peu plus aplanis. Peu de vanille ou de whiskey mais un léger tannin poivré, vraiment délicieux.

Bottle, shared with Parksy and others. The core character of the Bigfoot is not lost here, and the barrel adds lovely sweet toasty marshmallow, vanilla, and rumcake notes to the already chewy malt structure. The hops are here too, but much less evident. Really great stuff, just as I hoped!

Tap at Churchkey for CBC. This one poured an amber color with a touch of brown to it with a tiny off-white head. Aroma was some booze in this, touch of light citrus remains, but it’s mostly sweet malts surrounded by a ton of barrel, vanilla and some toasted coconut and raisin notes. Alcohol burns still a bit, a touch rough around the edges, but enjoyable.
