4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: MAR 21, 2015 Bottled, 2015 vintage. Pours very dark copper color, almost tan head. Aroma is lots of whiskey and hops. Whiskey is prominent, little bit of vanilla, (maybe a bit of coconut, but thatís not something I would have gotten w/o knowing itís supposed to be in there), big malt character and of course (this being bigfoot) lots of hops. Some citrus hops are notable. Actually, using whiskey is but not as in your face as other barrel-aged beers. You still get plenty of hops instead of all whiskey. Nice. Flavor is similar, lots of hops up front, and whiskey undertones throughout, and itís 100% there, you wouldnít mistake it, but itís not as aggressive as some other barrel-aged beers. So I like that. Bitter finish is notable. This is excellent. The more I sip this beer, the better it becomes. Itís just so good.

Finally got around to drinking one of these 750ml bottles and figured this was a good time to rate it. Dirty mahogany with a beige head that completely fades. Balanced oak, booze, resin with some lemon rind hops (although musty), caramelized onions with some burnt butter, toffee and caramel. Mild carbonation, full body, smooth, boozy, sweet yet becomes bitter, balanced and enjoyable. Great sipper.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. The pour is a vibrant copper color with white head. The aroma is mostly toffee and not much barrel. The taste is kinda dishwater. Not much bourbon. Was expecting more.

Beautiful ruby red in color. Crystal clear. Notes of vanilla, caramel, some spicy booze. Sticky mouthfeel, syrupy. Wonderful. Just the right amount of barrel aging. I canít get over the amazing color.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle via and shared with oakbluff. Pale amber in colour with medium carbonation. Aromas are of fruitcake, bourbon, and ginger. Warming in the mouth with elements of cake batter, fig, whisky, and earth. Medium bodied with a fairly boozy finish. A solid barleywine, but I much prefer the non-barrel aged version.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from Belmont way back when.
A: Opaque brown color with a thin head and bubbles collecting on the sides of the glass.
N: Bourbon, toffee, biscuit, caramel, vanilla, butter, toast, melon, hops, pine, and earth.
T: Very bitter; not much sweetness.
M: Heavy body, big alcohol, creamy carbonation.
O: A big barrel aged whiskey bomb with a noticeable Bigfoot presence underneath. That said, this one is still hot and untamed, and I donít think itís ever going to be much different than what it is now.

75cl, exclusive American brew, thx alot to Wouter for bringing this over!, very complex brew, malty/alcoholic/sweet and slightly woody/bitter/fruity, heavy, yet balanced, hazy, nearly no head, very good brew, yet expensive!

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
750 ml bottle into snifter; 2013 vintage, bottled in late 2012. Pours lightly hazy dark ruby red color with a 1-2 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big caramel, toffee, toast, raisin, plum, fig, molasses, vanilla, brown sugar, coconut, oak, bourbon, citrus zest, herbal, light pine, and toast/oak earthiness. Fantastic aromas with awesome complexity and balance of dark/bready malt, bourbon barrel, and light-moderate citrus/pine hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big caramel, toffee, toast, raisin, plum, fig, molasses, vanilla, brown sugar, coconut, oak, bourbon, citrus zest, herbal, light pine, and toast/oak earthiness. Fair amount of pine/oaky bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, toffee, toast, raisin, plum, fig, molasses, vanilla, brown sugar, coconut, oak, bourbon, citrus zest, herbal, light pine, and toast/oak earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity, balance, and robustness of big dark/bready malt, bourbon barrel, and light-moderate citrus/pine hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Light carbonation and full bodied; with a very smooth, creamy, and fairly slick mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warming present after the finish. Overall this is an awesome barrel aged barleywine. All around great complexity and balance of dark/bready malt, bourbon barrel, and light-moderate citrus/pine hop flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the huge ABV. A highly enjoyable offering.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
THOUGHTS: Wow! Very intense. The barrel seems to have smoothed out the Big Foot a little. Hid alcohol fairly well for the huge ABV. I could smell it a couple feet away. No pun intended.
TECHNICAL: Drank 4/21/2013. Bottle. Poured a dark, brownish amber with some red highlights and a small, off-white head that mostly diminished and left fair lacing. It also had nice legs. The aroma had heavy caramel and molasses; light citrus hops, lime specifically; ever-so-slight pine hops; grape, raisin, prune, apple cherry; hints of wood; hints of butterscotch; brown sugar; vanilla; bourbon; whiskey; Koo-Aid mix; and that barley wine smell. The initial flavor was moderates sweet and slightly bitter and acidic; while the finish was heavily sweet, moderately bitter and lightly acidic with a long durations. There was caramel, brown sugar, that barley wine taste, bourbon, whiskey, wood, , dark fruit, raisin, prune, vanilla, citrus rind, hops and pine hops, apple, grape, molasses, maple syrup, citrus hops and alcohol. The medium to full, leaning more to full, body was oily with soft but tingly carbonation and a lightly alcoholic finish.
