Poured from the bottle. Pours a great big black, with a light tan thin head. Notes of chocolate and coffee in that nose followed with the same in the mouth with a malty copperness. Great beer

On tap in a tulip, deep black color with minimal tan head, aroma is a sweet molasses with fruit, taste is smoky, nice mouth feel, sweetness mixes with some tang and then a very nice lingering warmth that makes this one fine sipping beer

Draft - Sweet boozy bourbon and some roast malts. Jet black with a thin head. Bourbon and roast but surprisingly no booze. Decent but nothing particularly special.

On draft at World of Beer - Gilbert during a Sierra Nevada tap takeover. Pours flat black with a dark tan head. Beautiful aroma of sweet bourbon, charred oak, a huge sherry tone, molasses, and a touch of balsamic vinegar. Incredibly rich taste of sharp boozy whiskey, dark chocolate, sweet caramel, oak resin, and a slight vinous tone. Thick body with a sticky texture. A boozy, decadent treat.

Youíve got to be kidding ??? This heavy chocolate Imperial Stout is NOT a 99. Itís no where near the character of Torpedo Extra IPA. Iíll take Straight To Ale Laika, barrel aged or not any day of the week over this junk !!! This stuff NO WAY deserves a 99. What are these people thinking? An obvious unworldly rating undeserved.

Tap. Jet black and a dark tan head. Vanilla notes, bourbon, chocolate, roast and coffee in the aroma. Flavor matches and is lovely, nicely bourbon forward, vanilla, some woodiness, coffee and dark chocolate with a roasty bourbon finish. Viscous lush body. Lovely

Black pour with a thin khaki head. Nose has some sweet bourbon and vanilla/brown sugar notes, along with a nougaty milk chocolate. Tastes really big and robust with big sweet dark chocolate flavors, a bit of charred oak, some caramelly bourbon, a light kiss of vanilla and brown , and a touch of mocha java. Ermahgerd amazing.

Bottle share. It pours with a murky dark mahogany body that supports a weak tan head. The aroma offers up smooth slick sweetness in the form of candy like bourbon booze and sugary sweet malts and then the sweetness intercedes among the dark roasted malts notes and chocolate. Very nice. The taste is smooth and sweet and nectar like with slick bourbon sweetness mixing with sweet malts, a molasses and vanilla sensation. Behind those notes are murmurs of spicy oak, dark roasted malts and dark roasted coffee and then a pleasing and firm chocolate yumminess. Wow, this all comes together very nicely. Solid!

Tasted at the 8th Annual Bistro Barrel Aged Beer Fest on Nov 9, 2013. This Imperial Stout pours an eclipse black color from the tap. Small to medium sized beige/tan head. The aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, bourbon, wood, vanilla and coffee. A full bodied Imperial Stout. The malts are chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, vanilla and sweet. The hops are herbal and earthy. Lots of bourbon and wood flavors blended with some nice smooth chocolate and vanilla flavors. Very smooth tasting with a hint of alcohol. This is what a barrel aged stout should taste like. There is a nice lingering bourbon finish. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is bourbon, sweet and boozy.
