22oz bottle shared at The Cad’s 10yr anniversary celebrations at CBC Clerkenwell, London. It pours a dark brown color with a small brown head. Aroma is sweet bourbon notes of vanilla, wood, leather, with espresso, dark chocolate, caramel. Taste is again mostly sweet with big bourbon notes, finishes drier and ashy, lightly boozy. Medium to full bodied with good carbonation. Overall, good but was expecting a bit more

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tasting at Matt’s, corked
Black color with small head. Solid Imperial Stout, more roasty than chocolatey, with nice medium sweetness, but also some unwanted liquorice; only light barrel presence.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle at The Cad’s 10 yr Shindig. Thanks to the beer bro L-Dogg. It pours jet black with a small tan head. The nose is rich roast, juicy, vanilla, toasty coconut and plenty of bourbon. The taste is bitter-sweet, rich roast, liquorice candy, soy sauce notes, vanilla fudge, oily, cocoa, warming alcohol, tar and charred wood with a dry, sweetish finish. Full body and fine carbonation. Aroma is grate fo sho, but the taste could be a bit smoother. Mighty decent anyhow.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle share at the Cad’s tasting at CBC Clerkenwell. Not sure who brought this, but thanks! Black, small foamy tan head. Aroma is sweet and minty, tequila, a little coconut. Body is medium, smooth, low carbonation. Taste is tangy up front, molasses, spearmint, boozey, finishes dry. Not really getting a lot of the barrel, and the base beer is still going strong. I wasn’t a huge fan of the base beer, but this feels like an improvement.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle (75cl): shared by Benzai: Served in a Chouffe glass:
Small beige head. Deep dark brown with blackish tints colored beer.
Aromas of older wood, dusty vanilla, roast, earthy tones, dark chocolate, light toffee, lighter bay leaf roast, alcohol...
Flavours of bitters, spice, alcohol, mocha, marzipan, malts, caramel, light vanilla, light wod, some manure, chocolate and rye wrapped in a toasty bow...
Aftertaste is bitter, alcohol, malty and light woody vanilla tones.
Low carbo, spicy mouthfeel, close to full bodied...
Loce the regular beer but the barrel aging hasn’t added anything nice instead of the spicy alcohol tones with a light woody vanilla hint...
Expected more of this!
