4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Rating 4900!3/28/13. On tap at Churchkey during CBC. Rich black pour with a small tan head that sticks. Rich BA aroma with fudge, semi-sweet chocolate, a touch of coconut and vanilla, butterscotch (in a good way), and hints of coffee. The flavor follows suit. Mouthfeel rich, but not overwhelming. A touch of heat. Tasty!

On tap at brewery 4/12/13- an absolute treat- very dark oily pour like a beautiful 10w-30 in a glass. slight head and nt much aroma but maybe bc it was a taster. Mouthfeel and taste was incedible- so much vanilla, perfect start and finish with the bourbon. Well done

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tap at Churchkey for CBC. Poured a stark, pitch black color with a small tan head. Aroma was a strong note of vanilla, really dried fruits in there, and some bitter chocolate characters. Flavor was vanilla wood, bitter chocolates surrounded by a ton of bourbon. Real smooth, boozy but more warming than harsh. This has mellowed out quite a bit. One of my favorites that night, if not the favorite of the night. If the alcohol was lower I would have loved to have enjoyed this one some more that night.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap at Churchkey for CBC. Inky black pour. Medium tan head. Wispy lacing. Nose is pretty intense black cherry and semisweet chocolate bar. Mild toasted coconut isn’t quite there. Hints of puppy breath. Body is rich, not too dense. Not super silky like the normal version. Moderate bourbon heat, hints of rum cake and coconut. But overall inferior to normal Narwhal. In the finish some sharper alcohol heat. Still a dessert beer to pair with mousse and chocolate cake.
