COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Bigfoot Barleywine is a craft beer legend. Each winter, this beast of a beer appears and wreaks havoc on unsuspecting palates with its intense bittersweet flavors. This year—in honor of the 30th Anniversary of this style-bending brew— we’re releasing a very special version of this cult classic: Aged in oak whiskey casks for nearly two years, this barrel-aged Bigfoot is incredibly complex. The assault of resinous hops has mellowed, and the influence of the wood has shifted focus toward the malt—with rich burnt-sugar flavors and notes of vanilla, toasted coconut, and raisins. Grab this elusive beast while you can, because it won’t be around for long.

Bottle. Clear ruby. Aroma is vanilla, and sweet caramel. Bigger barrel notes come out as the beer warms. Some toasty malt notes, raisin, and dark sugars. Very tasty. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

The most expensive beer of beer night but well worth it. I love the non barrel aged one but this is excellent.

750ml bottle pours hazy dark brown red with a finger of head. Nose is bourbon soaked oak, vanilla, marshmallow, mild sweet dark fruit, maple, bread, plum, hint of heat. Taste holds all the components of the nose with balanced bourbon that is well integrated into the flavor profile and nice vanilla oaky layers to compliment the dark fruits and bread. Finishes semi sweet vanilla, dark fruity plum and earthy bread with layered whiskey and wood. Tasty stuff!

Bottle. Orange brownish color with small beige head. Oak, plum, raisin, caramel, pine hops and sweet malt were the main smells and flavors. Was happy that the body on this was approachable and not too syrupy. Pretty solid.

This is quite excellent. Rich and flavorful, of molasses and hops, this is noticeably stronger than the original, but it’s equally tasty. Great beer, though pricey.
