The brewery says its new beer, which features five varieties of different hops, imparts hints of grapefruit, with a floral note that recalls orange blossom. At 8.5% alcohol-by-volume, a light malt body and dry finish complement West Coast Double IPA’s bold hop profile. “This is an IPA that’s West Coast in style, which is fitting since the whole pilgrimage kicks of here in California in just a few weeks, said Ken Grossman, founder.”

Purchased at Binny’s in Chicago, IL; enjoyed at home on a cold November weeknight. Appearance is a cloudy gold with a thin white head. Aroma is light citrus and pine, light caramel. Taste goes down with a nice bitterness, light booze, grapefruit notes, citrus flavor. Overall it’s decent.

24oz bottle stamped, 062014 from Spirits Manahawkin. Poured a good looking light bronze with a fluffy bright white head. Aroma is just plain weak, notes of dry citrus, old orange slices, grassy hops, some wet grains and a touch of soapiness. Flavor has a slight touch of alcohol on the front followed by old hops cones, grass, straw, dry citrus and old fruit rind. Palate is pretty damn good, smooth medium to fuller body, slight touch of ABV, average tight bubbly carbonation and lingering dry bitterness. Meh, probably awesome fresh but surprised it dropped off so much.

Bottle cheers to Adza once again and shared with Jackson. Pours yellow with a sticky white head. Nose is very lychee driven with moderate resin, toffee and pine. Taste is very stone fruit forward with lychee, grass, earth and moderate spice. Almost comes out with a rye focus to it. Drinks well for the abv. Quite solid stuff

24 oz bottle. Great hoppy nose. Hazy pale gold body. Flavor to die for. Really outstanding. Wish I'd been able to get my hands on more beer camp beer this year. Maybe will have to take a trip to Chico next year!

Type: 24-oz. bottle Glass: Stone Ruination IPA From: Barons Market in Alpine, Calif. Price: $5.29 Purchased: Oct. 22, 2014 Consumed: Oct. 23, 2014 Misc.: N/A Poured a golden, honey, pale, hazy color with 2-to-3 fingers of khaki white rocky head. Haziness cleared up fairly quickly to a nice clear look. Various bubbles coming up from the bottom, but not overwhelming. Sporadic, uneven spots of foamy lacing on the sides of the glass. Very good-to-great retention on the top. (Sight - 4.25) Smelled lime, pine, wet Cascade hops, Citra hops, caramel, tangerine rind, mango, light pineapple, tropical hops, rye hops, iced tea and some floral hops. (Smell - 3.75) Taste wasn’t that great, to be frank. Got boozy rye hops, bitter tropical notes, wet Cascade hops, lime, pine, caramel, melon, mango, light grapefruit rind, spoiled tangerine rind, light onion and other cooked vegetables. (Taste - 3.50) Medium-to-light body. Oily texture. Lively carbonation. Bitter, abrupt finish. (Feel - 3.38) Was very disappointed. This beer was pretty average, maybe a bit better. I feel like I even overrated it a tad. (Overall - 3.50) 3.58 81 B

Poured from 24oz bottle at home. Perfect looking clear orange pour with white head. Citrus lemon and grapefruit aroma. Tropical candy fruity and even vanilla notes. Delicious beer - wasn't expecting this to be as good as it is

Bottle from Otay: Holy phucc is the aroma FUNKY. Strong aroma of boiled vegetables such as broccoli or cauliflower while a whiff of onion like hops and even perhaps cheese like esters? The beer is initially soapy in taste but then delivers some of the very same flavors as I picked up with my nose because a heavy dosage of onion flavoring still comes through in the flavor of the beer. The stronger point is that the quality bread like malts signature to SN support the venture into the hop wild side and the beer balances out for the heaping overload of hop with so many different breweries involved.
