COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The brewery says its new beer, which features five varieties of different hops, imparts hints of grapefruit, with a floral note that recalls orange blossom. At 8.5% alcohol-by-volume, a light malt body and dry finish complement West Coast Double IPA’s bold hop profile. “This is an IPA that’s West Coast in style, which is fitting since the whole pilgrimage kicks of here in California in just a few weeks, said Ken Grossman, founder.”

I like it’s a 24 ounce bottle instead of 22. This beer reminds me a lot Hoptimum, just less hoppy and slightly skunky. It’s decent.

Poured from 24oz bottle at home. Perfect looking clear orange pour with white head. Citrus lemon and grapefruit aroma. Tropical candy fruity and even vanilla notes. Delicious beer - wasn't expecting this to be as good as it is

Bottle from Otay: Holy phucc is the aroma FUNKY. Strong aroma of boiled vegetables such as broccoli or cauliflower while a whiff of onion like hops and even perhaps cheese like esters? The beer is initially soapy in taste but then delivers some of the very same flavors as I picked up with my nose because a heavy dosage of onion flavoring still comes through in the flavor of the beer. The stronger point is that the quality bread like malts signature to SN support the venture into the hop wild side and the beer balances out for the heaping overload of hop with so many different breweries involved.

Pours a golden color with a white head leaving moderate lacing. Citrus and hoppy nose. Hoppy flavor up front with citrus notes, but of fruity sweetness in the middle. Mild for a west coast ipa, but good.

24 oz. bottle. Packaged on: 06/20/14 (I think). A hazy amber pour with TONS of little floaties and a thick and creamy beige head that leaves chunks of lacing behind. The aroma features lots of oranges, grapefruits, zesty citrus rinds, pine, and a bit of caramel. Floral. Lemons and wheat are really apparent with some warmth. Goes down fairly medium-bodied. Mildly sweet upfront in the taste with some caramel and a crisp graininess. Tangy citrus fruits and zesty rinds are present at the end. Tropical. A touch of warming alcohol and vanilla here and there. A unique spiciness throughout. As solid a beer as I expected.

Bottle. Orange gold. Tropical and floral with a nice malt balance. Better than I expected. Medium body carb and finish

24 oz bottle from Biggie Wine & Liquor. Golden-orange and pretty clear appearance with a fluffy, lingering white head and active carbonation. Citrus, grapefruit, pine, resinous hops and light floral notes in the nose. Similar flavor, medium plus hop bitterness, light malty sweetness and a touch of alcohol. Medium body with a crisp feel and a smooth finish.

This is a brewery provided special screen printed bottle labeled Beer Camp west coast double ipa. It’s the epitome of the style.

Bottle. Hazy gold and white head. Aroma is floral, almond and tropical fruit. Taste adds a bit of peach and booze. Medium mouthfeel and carb. Really solid.

Enjoyed this double IPA, I would have loved to get more aroma but overall it's enjoyable.

Bottle via the Bozeman Co-op. Shimmering golden pour is very attractive, nice clarity, topped with a finger of sticky beige head and followed by heavy sheet lacing. Nose is herbal and floral, lightly sweet. Mellow, but rich hop flavors… if that makes sense. Probably not the freshest bottle on the block, but this is drinking well right now. Herbal and tea notes to go along with the floral hop. Lingering bitters in the tail. This isn’t overpowering or off the beaten path by any means, but a solid and dangerously drinkable DIPA.
