COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
June 2012 ABV 5.4 IBU 31

This unique golden ale was brewed with apricots, kumquats, and a blend of intense and fruity American whole-cone hops. The aroma is complex with a mix of citrusy fruit notes from the hops and kumquats. The flavor is equally fruity with stone-fruit character from the apricot, and light but layer hops.

A taster at The Whole Foods. Pleasant apricot notes that fade into a metallic finish. First half of the beer is good but don’t know what happens at the end.

On draught at Papago. Poura clear dark golden with minimal white head. Aroma has citrus and biscuity notes. Taste is semi-sweet with nice bitterness. Easy drinker.

Yellow gold pour. White head. Light citrus hops, a hint of lemon. I have to ask, where are the apricots or kumquats? I get neither which is disappointing.

4 ounce sample on tap at Rubicon. The aroma on this has some crystal malt character with a slight piney hop aromas. Not getting much fruitiness in this. Smells very similar to SNPA. Transparent golden body with a small, white head that is quickly dissipating. Starts slightly fruity with some apricot flavors, before this becomes a little spicy, piney, and hoppy towards the middle and finish. Tastes like SNPA with a little bit of fruitiness. Decent hop bitterness in the end.

On tap at Rubicon, Sacramento. Pours clear golden with a nice white head and a floral aroma. There is a light malt and citrus flavor with a slightly bitter perfumy finish. Refreshing.

Tap at the Rubicon. Pours light amber gold with a white head. Aroma of citrus and apricot. Med body. Flavor is slightly bitter citrus rind with a little apricot. Very refreshing, finishing pleasantly bitter. Drinks like the pale ale it actually is.
