4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Brewdork (55) - Sanford, Florida, USA - JAN 22, 2013
Pours hazy amber with thin white head. Strong floral hop aroma. Very nice hop flavor with lively mouthfeel and a clean finish. One of the best IPAs I’ve had in a while.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 ComradeK (728) - Blue Mountains, AUSTRALIA - JAN 20, 2013
355ml bottle. Pours a hazy golden amber, with a medium off-white head, which lasts very well and leaves reasonable lacing. Turkish delight, pine resin hops and some caramel malt make up the aroma. There is a touch of rose up front, which is overcome by pine and spice hops, moderated by a rosehip tea flavour. Caramel malt comes into the mid-palate, with rosewater appearing towards the finish. More pine hops appear at the finish, leaving a bitter aftertaste which is tempered by the sweetness of rosewater. This is a very interesting beer. The rosehips and petals are well-integrated, and serve as an excellent counterpoint to the bitterness of the hops. It’s a little strange, but very enjoyable.

355ml bottle of 2012 edition from Bitter Virtue, Southampton. A bright amber pour with a billowing white head; sweet ane enticing aroma, some resinous hops, but also light and floral; rich and full in the mouth with some intense hops that sting and burn, but are also full of flavours - nettles, honey, tropical fruit & turpentine. Certainly a beer to savour and enjoy slowly.

Bottle: Poured a clear orangey color ale with a medium size foamy head with good retention and some good retention. Aroma of floral hops with light citrus notes is quite enjoyable. Taste is also dominated by nice floral hops notes with very limited bitterness notes and some subtle citrus notes. Malt backbone is quite discreet with a nice light sweet finish. Body is about average with good carbonation. Nice IPA with limited bitterness and good level of hops.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 ddemmingjr (591) - Chagrin Falls, Ohio, USA - JAN 9, 2013
Bottle: pours hazy deep golden, floaties, frothy off white head that mostly fades. Nose- sweet malts, pixie sticks, smarties, mint, floral hops, faint pine. Dug it. On the palate, somewhat creamy, mild bitterness with a fair amount esters as well. Quite sessionable and a pretty good beer. Reminds me of a Mikkeller hop series actually.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20 Maris (745) - Canberra, AUSTRALIA - JAN 9, 2013
From a 355ml bottle (2012 edition) on 9/1/2012. Pours a relatively clear, deep golden with a smallish head. has a lovely, big hoppy aroma with floral, fruit and pine notes. The flavour is bold but not too over the top, with bready and biscuity malt, honey, sweet citrus fruit (mandarin) balanced by a big, dry, lingering grapefruity bitterness, and a slight tart lemon sourness. Full bodied and nicely carbed. Another wonderful IPA from Sierra Nevada.
