COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Beer Camp #28 from 05/2010. Brewed with our friends at High Sierra Music Festival. FestivALE is a beer in perfect harmony. A beautifully balanced golden ale with high notes of bright and floral hops and a driving baseline of complex but drinkable malt flavor. It’s perfect for a weekend in the hills with good music and great beer.

On draft at Tap 25. It pours a golden yellow color with a white head. The aroma is grainy, toasty and floral with hints of noble hops. The flavor is dry with crackers and toast, spicy and floral hop flavor with hints of lemon citrus. Prickly, fairly light body. Strong bitterness in the finish. Decent stuff.

On tap at burger. in Santa Cruz. Pours clear golden with a fine white head. Aroma is pretty tame/lame. Grainy with lovely accents of dog food. Flavor is much better, albeit not very characterful. Cereal grains mostly. No trace of the ’bright’ ’floral’ hops they talk about in the description. Pretty standard blonde ale.

16oz sample on tap at the Davis Graduate. The aroma is a bit floral initially, before a biscuity sweet maltiness takes over. A little spicy, too. Transparent golden body with a smallish white head present. Spicy, herbal hoppy flavors present to start. Light grassiness follows. Some toastiness comes though in the middle with some mineral hints. Very drinkable, crisp, and snappy. Enjoyable.

Sampled on tap at the Sierra Nevada Mothership/Tap Room on 6/22/2011. This golden ale pours a medium orange gold color from the tap. Small to medium sized fairly dense white foamy head, with good retention and nice lacing. The aroma is cereal, grainy, fruit and sweet with some hoppiness. A medium bodied golden ale. The malts are cereal fruity and sweet. The hops are herbal and citrusy. Very nice carbonation, lots of little bubbles. This beer has the sweetness and fruitiness of a golden with the hoppiness of an IPA of a pale ale. Interesting combination. Crisp and clean, light and refreshing with a nice dry finish. A great beer to sip on a 100 degree Chico day. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
