COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Produced especially for the OBF, Beer Camp’s golden color and medium bodied sweetness comes from pale, Europils, Munich and acidulated malts. Magnum, Crystal and Pacifica hops provide a distinctly American bittering and hop flavor profile without going over the top. The result is a refreshing, balanced, crisp pilsner, easy to drink on a hot summer festival day - or to take with you to beer camp.

355mL. Pours a clear yellow, macro lager gold. Larger, dense, pillowy white head. Thick formation, great retention, webby to soapy lacing. Nose is sweeter grain, some funky sour cherry, lemon drops, sweet juice box. Taste is very nice- small alcohol, some coconut oil, lighter mango juice box, sharper sourdough cracker. Palate is super soft, relaxed, thicker, oily. Finish is clean, sweeter, some coconut dessert. Wow.

Bottle, this beer had a clear light yellow gold pour and made a one to two finger white head that receded to a partial thin cover and ring, there was a good center stream with some smaller streams of carbonation in the glass, it left spots and small fingers of lacing on the glass, there were aromas of grassy, herb, resin and spice hops with some malt and faint bread like notes, the flavors were resin and grass hops with a little spice, light malt and bread in the background, there was very little sweetness if any, the hops gave a good bitterness after the finish, the mouth feel was less than medium, and average to lively carbonation, a hoppy pale beer, if you like hops, you will enjoy this drink.

Aroma is weak sauce. Appearance is very light gold. Taste is not bad but it is definitely not an imperial. Palate is really solid and full. Overall good but I would not buy a six pack of it!

12oz bottle, from the 2012 beer camp mix pack. Thin fizzy white head, some bubbles on the side of the glass. No lace. Clear golden color. Bigger body for a pils, but not quite an "imperial". More crisp carbonation, dry finish. Bready, good spicy and lemon-citrus hops. Some bitterness. Grainy aroma. Light spicy hop aftertaste. Seeing the celery that another rater pointed out. Enjoyable, but I’m a bit disappointed, after the raves I’ve been hearing about this.

With an ABV of 5.6% I am surprised this is called an Imperial Pils, but definitely more drinkable than I expected because the alcohol is not overwhelming like some imperial pils. This is a very nice drinkable pils, not as dry and hoppy as the gold standard, victory pils; a bit more balanced. Very nicely done - I would like to see this as a regular offering by sierra nevada

Poured from the bottle, aroma is clean, but grainy. Flavour is really clean. Overall a really good piksner, maybe my favorite,

Poured into a shaker. Light yellow with a thin white head. Aroma is extremely mild. Flavor is light and bready with light grassy hop notes. Light bodied and crisp. Overall a pretty good pils.

This style is not for everyone but I love it. It is very hopforward, but in a grassy herbal kind of way that is definitely not an IPA. Really crisp and refreshing but with lots of flavor too.

Bottle. Pours bright gold with a soft white head that dissipates to a wispy film. Aroma is lovely hops and Pilsner malt sweet and bitter all at the same time. Taste has a good spicy bitter hop presence and a balanced malt finish. Palate is slick and crisp with a dry finish. Very much enjoyed!

12 oz stubby bottle into a pilsner glass. Julian date code gives it a bottling date of June 17th. A - Nice dark yellow body. Clear with tons of rising carbonation. Two finger high bone white thick and sudsy head that sticks around the entire time. Excellent lacing and retention. S - Has a nice piney hop bitterness which leads into bready malts and light spices. Very nice aroma. T - Wow, this is tasty. Not a lot of hop flavor, just a very pleasant bitterness which cuts down on the sweetness of the beer. Some pine, bready and crackery malts, lemon peel, and spicy yeast. Finishes abruptly and cleanly. M - Lots of carbonation with a medium to light body. Super drinkable. O - Although it takes a deviation from traditional pilsners, this is a huge success in my book. The "Imperialness" of the dry hopping over the subtle pilsner flavors just works so well.
