COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our aggressive Imperial Red Ale is a massive mix of smooth malts and West Coast hops that have no patience for the lupulin leery. This crimson beer starts with caramel-like malt flavor that canít suppress the assertive, citrusy hop finale.

Complex aroma, malt with a hint of hops. I can't place the spicy note. Light tan head with some larger bubbles. Very dark brown-red color. Strong alcohol flavor that blends with the roasted malt. Dangerous beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz bottle into a pint glass. A: Pours a hazy burgundy color. Thereís a nice head capping it off; itís about two fingers high, off white in shade, and rather frothy in its texture. As the head recedes (retention is good), the lacing left behind is quite prevalent. S: This one seems to focus on the herbal and piny hops, with noticeable caramel and toffee to balance. Very little in terms of citrusy hop notes. The overall combination - piny hops, tons of caramel - donít really appeal to me, but this one works rather well. As it warms up, a little more maltiness shines through. T: Iíve noticed a few comparing this to cannabis. And by gawd, theyíre on to something. It opens relatively sweetly, with the usual caramel-and-toffee suspects at the forefront. It takes a bit of time to build, but soon after, a great deal of resiny hops explode on the palate. Itís not just generically bitter - the weed, herb, and pine notes are decently defined. As bitter as it is, it doesnít bother me in the least. A twinge of sweet caramel reappears in the distant aftertaste; maybe thatís why. M: Itís gotten to the point where an amber ale has to finish crisply in order for me to actually like it. And this does. Itís a little sweet on the aftertaste, but thatís no big deal. This one gives me a bit of a cottonmouth feel post-swallow...OMG JUST LIKE WEED. THIS IS WEED BEER, BRO. O: I usually do not like any amber ale that isnít made by Troegs. This is a welcome exception to that rule. Wow, imagine that, an amber ale that brings the hops and treats the malt like an unwanted mother-in-law (there, but kept in that dingy room away from the good times), what a novel concept. This and Nugget Nectar are probably the only two ambers I could willingly drink multiple servings of.

From bottle. Pours a rich, dark red with minimal, but lingering head and big time lacing. Some hops and dark fruit in the nose. Good carbonation, slightly oily feel. Hoppy with a coffee-like finish. Nice wallop and easy to drink. Win.

Bottle. Attractive cooper-ruby pour with a medium, frothy tan head. Aroma is strong caramel, citrus, floral hops, toasted bread and soft malt. Taste is citrusy hops, floral hops, earthy notes, abundant caramel, toasted malt and dark bread. Body is medium-full and chewy with a dense, creamy carbonation. Finishes with more citrus notes, strong caramel, toasted malt, earthy notes, dark bread and floral hops.

12 oz. bottle from Dutchís. Pours a deep copper/mahogany color with a medium sized fine beige head that leaves thick lacing. The aroma has a sweet caramel malt base, some citrus and juicy tangerine hops, a spicy note and even a light floral note. The flavor has adds some toasted malts to the caramel, citrus is there, but this is more citrus rind and earthy hops with a big bitterness to the finish. Tasty enough, my only suggestion would be more flavoring hops for the finish and less bittering hops.

Poured into snifter from Camp Box bottle. It's a sexy ginger with curves. I'm enjoying the hell out of this. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pour is deep copper to brown, pretty murky, thin whispy layer of beige suds. Cloudy linen scent. floral hops and robust sweet carmel, some faint banana. Pert carbonation, mouthfeel average to thin, very bitter finish, carbony/resinous. Bitter resin and pine hop flavor, somewhat indistinct malt character that just adds roundness to the flavor overall. Straght forward bitter beer thatís not too strong but lacks complexity.
