COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our aggressive Imperial Red Ale is a massive mix of smooth malts and West Coast hops that have no patience for the lupulin leery. This crimson beer starts with caramel-like malt flavor that canít suppress the assertive, citrusy hop finale.

Bottle from my Bro Pete for my B-Day. Pours a dark amber with red highlights. The aroma is sweet with caramel and bread. The flavor has the sweetness up front but quickly gives way to the citrus and peppery hops. Quite dry with a very nice after taste. The alcohol is hidden.

2013 Beer Camp Version. Pours a deep brown with ruby highlights and ample tan head. Aroma is a ripe floral fruit hop note. Taste is a nice blend of roast caramel malt and hops. Very good.

Draft @ Ginger Man in Greenwich, CT. This is a silky, but powerful red ale. Faint cherry notes blended nicely with the citrus notes of the hops. Good one and done beer, wouldnít want two of these in one night, hooray moderation.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a clear reddish color with a medium white head. A sweet nose of caramel and citrus. Big fruity hops, medium bitterness some dusty caramel. Good. Very hoppy.

12 oz. A: Dark red verging on purple. Creme colored, fluffy head. Decent lacing. Sterling presentation. N: Pineapple and mango. Leafy hops. Sweet bread dough. Touches of pine. T: Well balanced. Rough hops propped by good malt sweetness. Hints of citrus, and lots of pine/earth. M: Surprisingly thick and creamy. Resinous. Yet very easy to drink. Very impressed here. O: I tend to hate Imperial reds because theyíre so abrasive. Pretty happy with this.

12 oz. bottle, part of the Beer Camp 12 pack. Pours a deep ruby red with clear edges. One finger creamy beige head with a good amount of lace. Strong citrus hop aroma with a sweet caramel malt background. Lots of juicy citrus flavor softened by sweet malty goodness. Full bodied. Yummy!

I do not believe Iíve had a better beer than this. Not a fan of malty ambers, but this is more of an ipa. Perfectly balanced. The almost perfect beer.

Bottle from Beer camp case. Drank with Dave and Bob Clark. Nice roasted and caramel malts. Smooth, piney and citrus finish. I liked it a lot.

Complex aroma, malt with a hint of hops. I can't place the spicy note. Light tan head with some larger bubbles. Very dark brown-red color. Strong alcohol flavor that blends with the roasted malt. Dangerous beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz bottle into a pint glass. A: Pours a hazy burgundy color. Thereís a nice head capping it off; itís about two fingers high, off white in shade, and rather frothy in its texture. As the head recedes (retention is good), the lacing left behind is quite prevalent. S: This one seems to focus on the herbal and piny hops, with noticeable caramel and toffee to balance. Very little in terms of citrusy hop notes. The overall combination - piny hops, tons of caramel - donít really appeal to me, but this one works rather well. As it warms up, a little more maltiness shines through. T: Iíve noticed a few comparing this to cannabis. And by gawd, theyíre on to something. It opens relatively sweetly, with the usual caramel-and-toffee suspects at the forefront. It takes a bit of time to build, but soon after, a great deal of resiny hops explode on the palate. Itís not just generically bitter - the weed, herb, and pine notes are decently defined. As bitter as it is, it doesnít bother me in the least. A twinge of sweet caramel reappears in the distant aftertaste; maybe thatís why. M: Itís gotten to the point where an amber ale has to finish crisply in order for me to actually like it. And this does. Itís a little sweet on the aftertaste, but thatís no big deal. This one gives me a bit of a cottonmouth feel post-swallow...OMG JUST LIKE WEED. THIS IS WEED BEER, BRO. O: I usually do not like any amber ale that isnít made by Troegs. This is a welcome exception to that rule. Wow, imagine that, an amber ale that brings the hops and treats the malt like an unwanted mother-in-law (there, but kept in that dingy room away from the good times), what a novel concept. This and Nugget Nectar are probably the only two ambers I could willingly drink multiple servings of.
