3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Dark red amber body, clear with short tan head. Fruitcake, maraschino cherry-almond bread, pine, juicy ripe oranges, pressure-treated lumber and brown malts. Pumpernickel bread shows up in the finish. Brutal bitterness, medium-high sweetness, somewhat savory, decent malt firmness. Itís seemingly dry even though I can tell on the approach that itís sweet. Sweet but not too sweet, and the hop acids cut the sugar well. With the silty / minerally Sierra Nevada yeast and strong pine resin character it seems like a different iteration of Celebration, which was one of the original American Red IPAs. So itís got that going for it.
