12 oz. bottle, part of the Beer Camp 12 pack. Pours a deep ruby red with clear edges. One finger creamy beige head with a good amount of lace. Strong citrus hop aroma with a sweet caramel malt background. Lots of juicy citrus flavor softened by sweet malty goodness. Full bodied. Yummy!

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
355ml bottle. Pours a hazy ruby amber, with a moderate off-white head, which lasts fairly well and leaves reasonable lacing. Resin and floral hops mix with caramel malt and a touch of peach to create the aroma. Resin, kiwifruit and melon hops up front lead into a toffee malt mid-palate. White pepper and resin hops come into the finish. This is a very enjoyable imperial red ale, which really nails the balance between assertive hops and smooth malt that is such a hallmark of the style.

Beautiful clear red with a thin-medium beige head which dissipates quite quickly. Aroma of caramel malts, citrus hops, a little burnt butterscotch. Sweet with a bitter finish. Oily texture, low carbonation. Really nice.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle to tulip
Aroma of toasted malt, pine, and alcohol.
Pours a dark reddish brown with a thick bubbly off white head, shrinking quickly to 2mm and then lasting. Taste is toasted malt, dark chocolate, and strong bitterness. It starts sweet and then ends bitter...so this is unbalanced. If both were together, I’d say this was a great beer, but as it is, it’s just good.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle - Caramel, earthy piney hops and a slight bit of booze. Clear caramel with a thin brown head. Malty notes going into a bitter pine bomb. Finish is piney and bitter as well. Not bad, but some sweetness to balance would have been better.

3.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 ounce bottle pours a light ruby red color. Some haze and hop residue floating. Hey sweet clean caramel aroma very minor pine hop aroma. Nice tan head that lasts over a minute with some nice lacing along the sides. Nicely balanced between the Malts and the hops. Hey bit of a bitter aftertaste.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Cornelius. Murky amber/red body with a large beige head that holds well. Light carbonation. Excellent lacing. Aroma of caramel, pine, a hint of liquorice, hard candy and green, leafy hops. Lovely depth of flavour - initial sweet flavours of wood and caramelised sugar, then citrus flavours come to the fore, followed by a biting peppery finish. Medium body with an oily texture. Soft carbonation. A boozy, hoppy, flavoursome beer from one of the world’s best breweries.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours ruby orange with a light tan head. Aroma is lots of pine, grapefruit and orange, and some toasted malt. Taste is a pretty standard (but tasty) grapefruit and pine, with some herbal notes. A bit of caramel and toasted malt as well. Resinous mouth-coating bitterness. Full smooth mouthfeel.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours a deep copper colour with a fairly quickly dissipating off-white head. Aromas of caramel, roasted malt and some citrus. Caramel and toffee flavours with resinous pine and a bitter, slightly boozy, finish. Medium bodied and slightly oily. Nicely balanced - delicious.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours copper with a large creamy head.
Nose shows raisins, bready malt, toasty notes, burnt figs and spicy hops.
Similar falvours, malty but with a big spicy hoppy hit. Some acrid, burnt figs and a syrupy note before a massive spicy hop bitternes rolls through. somewhat harsh really.
Thick body, could use more carbonation.
Somewhat limited, and not exactly pleasant. Wasn’t a fan.
