COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This imperial red ale takes the intense hop profile found in traditional double ipa and turns up the malt. It has big aromatic hop notes of grapefruit, peach, and melon--balanced by a smooth and surprisingly robust malt body.

Bottle. Dark amber pour with a little bit of lasting head and an aroma of a little malt and some barely noticeable hops. Flavor is good and creamy malt, some peppery tin/hops and dry grapefruit on the finish. Not bad, but middle of the road as far as imperial redís go.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 8/30/12

Aroma: The nose is a balanced combination of caramel malts and pine hops
Appearance: It pours a clear, dark reddish color with a foamy beige head and fairly heavy lacing
Flavor: The taste is light-medium sweet, fairly malty, with spice notes, and a fairly big hop bitterness
Palate: The body is medium, has a fairly creamy, smooth feel, soft carbonation, and a rather dry finish
Overall Impression: Overall, this a solid beer, but not a standout in the Imperial Red "style." The nose is solid, but I didnít get nearly any of the grapefruit, peach, and melon that the nose promised. The flavor is also solid, but it also doesnít reach the level of the best examples of the style.

Spruce, piny aroma. Soapy head and lace dots. Initially complex hoppy melange with a dry malty finish. Worth sipping to enjoy.

From the Beer Camp 12 Pack, my second favorite after the Oatmeal Stout. Poured a nice reddish brown with a dirty off white head. Nose was a nutty malt, a bit on the fruity chocolate side. Nice balanced taste leaning on the sweet side. Not as strong tasting as the ABV would lead you to think. This is a medium bodied beer with a nice creamy texture, and long finish.

12oz bottle. Rating #76. Dark reddish/amber color with a nice sticky beige head that left some great lacing on the glass. Nice aroma, itís a nice blend of hops and a caramel, light toast, sweetness. Nice flavor as well, more toast with a nice bite in the finish. Nice stuff. (2376)

Bottle from bhensonb. Pours dark copper with a thick beige head and a toffee and citrus aroma. There is a citrusy smoked malt flavor. Full-bodied with a dry chocolate finish.

Poured a somewhat cloudy deep brown/red with a big beige head. Aroma is bread, floral, grass, nuts, and a little citrus as well. Taste is at first nutty and floral hops and is then followed by some citrus. Palate is medium body, creamy, with a little bit of boozey taste.

355 mL bottle. A really good amber. Nice blend of earthy and citrus hops, and the malt backbone is distinctive and well established. Nothing particularly "imperial" about it though, except the booze. Which you canít taste.
