Poured a somewhat cloudy deep brown/red with a big beige head. Aroma is bread, floral, grass, nuts, and a little citrus as well. Taste is at first nutty and floral hops and is then followed by some citrus. Palate is medium body, creamy, with a little bit of boozey taste.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
355 mL bottle. A really good amber. Nice blend of earthy and citrus hops, and the malt backbone is distinctive and well established. Nothing particularly "imperial" about it though, except the booze. Which you can’t taste.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
this is a fairly nice strong ale. Very deep amber with a half inch head that held well. Aroma was piney hops and a deep undercurrent of caramel malt. Some molasses taste with mild bitter and alcohol notes. a good inclusion for a mix pack.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
red in color. smells like a red w/ a bit more hops, but not overboard. the dark malt & hops combine for an earthy aroma. smell of alcohol is very light. taste a bit of toffee & caramel. not sure if it was reading the back of the label first, but definitely picked up the melon. bitterness creeps in. nice blend of hops & malt. incredibly smooth for 8% and mouthfeel kinda thin. sn should brew this beer more often. very enjoyable.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle... Poured dark, burgundy with a thin, off- white head. Nose had toasted grains and sweetness. Dark malts, toasted sugars, dark fruits, cherry skins, citrus, earthy pine, yeast esters and spice. Full bodied, low alcohol flavor presence. Just a nice malty, ale estery beer. Hardly any flaws.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle-purchased at Jubilation in Albuquerque, NM-Aug 2012-pours deep ruby red hue crystal clear with a lovely soapy lite tan head. looks awesome! nose is big tosted carmel malts with alot of piney hops. smells awesome! A brief hint of alcohol on the nose. Love how this smells-alot of complexity. Flavors of deep caramel malts, toasted malt, lite roast, lots of piney hops, huge resin and a wonderful carmel malt base that lasts the entire way through the sip. Long toasty/piney hop finish with lingering notes of leafy tobacco. This is awesome! This should become a SN regular in their 24oz bottle series. I would be happy. Im really surprised by the low ratings.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Poured a clear dark orange color. The head was tall and light tan with good retention and lacing. Hop dominated nose with pine, mint, flower blossom, and orange liqueur notes. There was also a good whiff of brown sugar. Medium bodied and dry with moderate bitterness. Pine and herbal hop flavors well supported by plenty of toasty amber/brown sugar malt elements and subdued wet stone. Good stuff.
