4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Good representation of one of my favorite styles. Deep amber color. Thick head. Grapefruit is the most prominent hop flavor. It's an imperial but not too much of an alcohol taste.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Clear reddish-amber with a frothy, khaki head; nice lacing. Aroma of pine, resin, grapefruit, and crystal malt. Taste is resinous and a bit malty sweet and bitter. Medium body. Hop forward for sure. Good stuff.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Deep burgundy (httr!) color . Hoppy aroma of pine and citrus. Flavor is much like the aroma, piney and citrusy, slightly astringent. Nice warming beer. Alcohol content is in balance with the strong hop flavor.

12 oz. bottle- Pours dark ruby red with a nice two finger off white head that looks like a root beer float and nicely draped lacework. Aorma is hops, Pacific Northwest hops, piney and resinous, grapefruit and moderately spicy. The taste is malt driven at first, sweet mellow malt followed by those NW hops, mildly bitter, but very hoppy. I am not usually a fan of these types of things, but Sierra Nevada knows their hops, and they balance wonderfully with the not overbearing malt, SN knows their shit.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
The body is a bit heavy with good carbonation. Overall this one is mediocre. It’s fair enough, but my least favorite so far of the beer camps

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a deep and dark mohogany red with cherry cola flavor in there too. Taste is strong hops, musky soil, and malt caramel red. threres a nice comparison between a dipa and a malty red here as both styles mix well. This brew takes on a grandiose flare when settled and poured appropriatley so into a stemmed belgain glass. Looks good, taste good, sierra nevada seldom dissapoints.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours with deep redish brown color - very deep. Light brownish head that diminishes quickly. Heavy toasted malt aroma with hints of caramel. Not getting much hop aroma on first at first, but developing a fruity aroma after the first taste. Great mouthfeel and a great balance of malt & hops. Finishes with a sharp bitterness. Big beer - but I like it.

3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 15/20
Strong grapefruit peel and oak nose. Tea underneath. Murky rust colored, medium yellow head, good lacing. Sweet woody oak flavor with a citrus peel accent. Cherry jolly ranchers are present throughout, in the background. Peppery, resinous, bitter citrus peel bite on the finish, rather off-putting. Like the imperial oatmeal stout from this same beer camp series, it is much too much. It’s like trying to suck the marrow out of life but choking on the bone. My apologies to Robin Williams.

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Long awaited, tough to find the 12 pack, very hoppy, bitter, and sort of dry, tasting the red ale, more like a bitter red than an imperial, or a red crossed with an IPA, but very drinkable, I like the interpretation.
