COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This imperial red ale takes the intense hop profile found in traditional double ipa and turns up the malt. It has big aromatic hop notes of grapefruit, peach, and melon--balanced by a smooth and surprisingly robust malt body.

The beer pours a red color with an off-white head. The aroma has a lot of pine and not too much else. The flavor is similar. I get a lot of pine from the hops, but I also get a dirt-like character from the red ale malt. There is also some grass and a low amount of bitterness. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Bottled. Pours deep amber with a short frothy head. Good retention and a excellent lace. Aroma of earthy hops and nutty malts. A little sweetness followed by medium bitterness. Medium body, creamy-oily texture, and an oily-bitter finish.

Deep amber-ruby red color with soft off-white head. Quite floral hoppy aroma. Soft, yet full rich malty body, almost chewy with a cake sweetness and earthy and floral hop notes that coat the mouth and linger. Quite nice!

Solid beer. Good nose, nice colour with big hop presence that is tempered by a good malty backbone. Nice!

35,5 cl bottle @ lusikka, bottled 27.06.2012
Aroma is a bit stale with biscuits, resiny hops and hints of caramel. Flavour has vegetable notes, resiny hops, berries and toffee. A bit boozy feeling in the finish. Watery for this ABV and a disappointment.

355 ml bottle.
Pours a amber brown colour with a large frothy white head, which collapses quickly. Aroma is very weak with some notes of berries and caramel malts. Flavour of caramel malts, sweet berries, caramel and grassy hops. Medium bodied, soft carbonation and a dry, rough, bitter finish. Decent.

355 ml bottle

Bottled on June 27, 2012 - Pours reddish orange with a bubbly white head. Aroma of biscuity caramel malts, toffee, ripe fruits, hops and berries. Taste is malty and has a lot of berries, hints of ripe fruity hops, grass and peach. Finish is bitter and malty with a lot of berries. A bit unbalanced, too heavy on the berries.
