COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This imperial red ale takes the intense hop profile found in traditional double ipa and turns up the malt. It has big aromatic hop notes of grapefruit, peach, and melon--balanced by a smooth and surprisingly robust malt body.

"2nd beer tried out of 2012 mixer, and another winner. Malt-wise reminds me of a Tahoe Red...nutty and slightly sweet. Dark. The hops are almost in contrast but it works really well, and the brewer’s description is spot on...peach and grapefruit dominate the hops. Nice brew."

(bottle - 12 oz) Clear red pour with a very thick tan head. Floral and peppery aroma with a dry citrus note. Flavor is rather dry and astringent with a lingering peppery hop flavor. Probably a bit past its prime but still not bad.

Slightly hazed ruby red with a very large creamy tan crown that relinquishes itself slowly. Aroma is a floral and toffee mix with citrus, grapefruit, caramel, bready malt and sticky buns. Taste is sweet with caramel, toffee, citrus, grapefruit, orange and light booze. Moderate bitterness on the finish.

I’m currently rating every SN brew I’ve ever had in one clean sweep. I grew up on the classic SN Pale having it around during high school, and since have watched SN grow into a national representation of incredible craft beer. Living 45 mins away is a treat for the random growler fill. Keep up the amazing work and thanks!

Bottle. Deep red-orange with a frothy clingy head. The aroma is enticing, very hoppy with an undercurrent of sweet bready malts. The palate is malt forward, with breadcrusts, caramel, and milk chocolate balanced by ripe tropical fruit hop character. I think the age on this has tempered the bitterness somewhat, because I would characterize this as moderately bitter at most. Superb balance here, lovely flavours.
