3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz bottle into a pint glass.
A: Pours a clear copper color. The head is very fluffy, and about two fingers high, with an offwhite shade. It’s pretty rocky in texture, and fades down to a slender film relatively quickly. Plenty of ringed lacing is left down the glass.
S: In the proper Sierra Nevada tradition, there is a dominant presence of bitter grapefruit and pine notes from Cascade hops. There’s also a minor caramel malt note to balance things out. I’m a little disappointed in the fact that I don’t really pick up any Citra (melon, mango) hop notes, though. Having said all of that, it’s really not a bad aroma at all - actually, it’s a pretty damn good aroma.
T: I have no actual complaints about the flavor profile itself: slight opening malt is quickly cast aside by a decent herbal, piny hop quality, with plenty of (welcome) bitterness to boot. After the mild palate shock, touches of caramel and toffee appear. At first, I was let down by the lack of Citra presence, but lo and behold, a twinge of melon flavor pops up after a while. My biggest problem isn’t the quality - that’s fine and dandy - it’s the fact that there isn’t much difference between this and Torpedo.
M: This is where the brew pulls away from Torpedo - if only slightly. It seems to be a bit crisper and cleaner, with only a hint of residual sweetness to quash some of the bitter qualities. I’d even suggest it’s a touch less coarse. Great drinkability for nearly 7%.
O: I get a real sense of de ja vu drinking this - put Torpedo’s label on it and I wouldn’t bat an eyelash. I really wish that SN would have differentiated the two brews a bit more, but other than that, this is a fine IPA. Much like Torpedo, really.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
355ml bottle from Ales by Mail
Bottled July 9th - Pours clear copper orange with a large foamy head. Aroma of citrusy hops, grass, caramely maltiness, biscuity and soapy notes. Taste is smooth, hoppy and malty with notes of grass, soapy fruitness and citrus. Finish is malty, bready and biscuity with long lasting hoppy notes of grass and citrusy fruits. Okay, quite malty IPA.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 ounce bottle pours a slight hazy straw color. Moderate grapefruit and pine aroma. Decent lasting off-white head with some nice lacing. High-level of carbonation. Medium bodied seems a little bitter with not as much hop flavor. Middle-of-the-road I PA.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Cornelius. Hazy golden body with a thick white head. Light carbonation. Great lacing. Aroma is surprisingly sweet and malty for an IPA. Notes of caramel, wood and lemon drops. Bittersweet flavour of pine resin, biscuit, honey and lemon Strepsils and earth. Finish has a hint of peppery spice. Medium body with a smooth, oily mouthfeel. Soft carbonation. A well rounded IPA - not a hop bomb, but very drinkable and flavoursome.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours amber with a large, fading head.
Nose shows floral, spicy, earthy and herbal hops along with lovely biscuity malt.
Pretty similar falvours, more herbal, spicy and earthy hops. Some biscuit malt but very dry in the finish. Quite an aggressive bitterness.
Nice moderate carbonation.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a darkish golden orange with a fine white head.
Nose is orange, pineapple, peach and a slight bit of dough.
I get an interesting fairy floss note right on the attack, but it’s quickly swept away by some candied orange, then followed by a piney, grapefruit finish.
Body is medium, perfect carbonation for an IPA as usual.
This beer tastes strangely sweet to me, without actually being particularly malt driven if that makes sense. It’s all hop flavours, but all malt sweetness. Interesting, though I can’t help but wonder if something was lost in its trip around the world.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Light golden pour with a nice creamy with head.
Fairly strong lemon citrus and pine needle aroma. A little floral, but nothing too over powering.
A fairly light IPA, good citric notes, pretty strong pine resins and a good biscuity malt base. Not a large alcohol hit, good juicy tropical fruits.
Fairly dry hoppy finish, some good malt dough and good crisp bitterness.
