4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
From the beer camp 12 pack purchased at Total Wine Durham. I didn’t know this was an imperial stout going into this, but it became pretty apparent after the warming, full body made itself known. The brew is very dark and viscous with no real head. I like that the oats are not hidden whatsoever. It’s rich, very smooth and full of flavor. It’s semi roasty with a strong cacao quality. This is an awesome beer to ring in the cooler weather.

The hits just keep coming for Sierra Nevada. Beer pours very dark brown with a tan colored head that is retained and produces copious lacing. Aromas of mocha and roasted nuts. The flavor is sweet and roasty. This is a really nice big beer. Alcohol hard to detect.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle:   Very black, moderate foamy light beige head, nice lacing.   Big roasty nose, with a heavy accent of bakers chocolate covered figs or dates.   Roasted malts on the tongue, almost a slightly sour over-ripened fig/date, with notes of bakers chocolate.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Not a heavy example.   Finishes with a semi-sweet roastiness, dry chocolate, and graham cracker.   Decent Stout, could use a little more body but as is its enjoyable.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours pitch black with a medium tan head that leaves light lacing. Smells of roasted malt and chocolate. Tastes of chocolate, oatmeal, caramel, and vanilla. Mouthful is creamy with great carbonation. This is a good Imperial oatmeal stout. As the description said it does go well after dinner as a desert. I’ll have to try this one again if its still around.
