4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a crisp dark chocolate color leaving a very beautiful head. Leaves very little lace but I am ok with that. Lots of chocolate and roast comes out. Cocoa nibs at the nose which I love. Finishes a bit dry which I am not a fan of but ok with. Dark fruit seems to come though, maybe a hint of raisin as it warms. I would love to try this draft and even better cask! This is my second bottle, which I think is a little better! I hope to get another!

Crushed with TheRon. 12 bottle pours a jet black with a nice, one-finger chocolate-colored head. Roasty and chocolatey aroma. Silky smooth mouthfeel. Roast, sweet chocolate, and oats in the flavor. Dangerously easy to drink this one.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
A dark chocolate brown with just a trace of a tan head, and it smells like bakerís chocolate and brown sugar. The taste is that, plus some hoppy zing, and then this rich, smooth finish that just FLOODS your mouth with a sweet, heavy, undertow. I will buy this again.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
The beer has a black body, appearing dark brown at the edges, sporting a thin beige cap. The aroma is mild, with light scents of dark roast, molasses, a hint of chocolate. The flavor is roasty and chocooalty, with subtle coffee notes. The flavor is decent. A smooth and creamy mouthfeel with moderately low carbonation. Palate coating, with abv hidden well. While this beer has some nice things going on and shows potential, I find it to be generally unexciting. This was ok.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at the Davis Beer Shoppe. Roasted aroma with a slight sweet chocolate character. Mild metallic and anise notes are also present. Fairly pedestrian. Slightly transparent dark mahogany body with a creamy tan/mocha head present. Great lacing, and decent carbonation. Starts thick, and chewy with unsweetened chocolate flavors present. A bit ashy and burnt in the middle. Finishes with more sweetness and a little anise and pine. Pretty chewy and tasty.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from variety pack at Patís. Pours turbid jet black with creamy one-finger brown head and spare lace. Nose is roasty black patent and chocolate malt, cacao, and nuts. Tastes of roasty and slight charred chocolate malt, cacao, black licorice, and backup hops. Palate is rich, very complex, dense, and with well hidden alcohol, but not hidden so well you donít realize that this is a big monster of a stout, and will destroy any lightweights who dare to drink more than one at a sitting.
