COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This big oatmeal stout is midnight black in color--with a big roasty, mocha-like aroma. It has a silky body from the use of rolled oats, and a round and lasting finish. Perfect as an after dinner treat.

Bit licorichy for me but enjoy the mocha sweetness and the hops seem to round things out well. Alcohol extremely well hidden with a bit of a medium wet palatte going on. Like a chocolate bar with some oatmeal in it. The alcohol is in the finish with that licoriche twang.

This beer looks good, has a decent nose. But its is a bit to big to be an oatmeal stout. Russian imperial, I’d buy that. Good all around brew, but again beer camp box....bad name.

Draft @ Sunset Grill and Tap. Nitro pour. Nose was sweet chocolate, tad of oatmeal, with dry roasted barley. Flavors of big roasted, burnt malts, hints of licorice, coffee, caramel and undertones of the grassy hops. Silky almost milky texture. Full-bodied and roasty. ABV is nowhere to found and drinks like a stout that is 5 or 6%. This was a real treat and if I hadn’t had six other beers before it, I would have ordered another pint. Didn’t know it was 9% until the glass was emptied. If you can find the mix 12 pack do so, better yet find it on draught.

Poured jet black with a very small khaki head. Aroma is coffee, toffee, chocolate and a little bit boozey. Taste is like a mocha coffee with a slight nuttiness. Texture is silky smooth with little carbonation, it really coats your mouth.

Good. The nose is coffee with a touch of chocolate. The beer is deep black with a thin syrupy tan cap. Sweet with roast coffee notes. Thick with aong sweet finish balance by bitterness not from hops but from roast.

12oz bottle from variety pack----> shaker. Pours super black with small tan head with decent lacing. Aroma is light coffee and mocha. Taste is much better than aroma with light soy sauce, bitter good coffee, spice, and dark chocolate. Palate is thick and creamy, almost chewey. Fantastic representation of the style and EASILY the best beer in the box set.

Mild creosote, coffee, toasted soy and candlewax aroma. Inky, oily pour, big medium tan head, squat west coast 12 oz bottle, bad label. Hoppy, light licorice, milky medium sweetness, rich. Long coffee finish, thick mouthfeel. ABV is well masked. High Test. Tell ya what, boys, having 12 of these stashed back for a snowy weekend wouldn’t be bad prep/planning. Proof, package store.

bottle. the aroma is better than expected. Get some malt and a little oak from the smell as well as some vinegar. The taste is big with a lot of malt. Not very memorable, but not terrible.

12 ounce bottle from Bier 30. Pours a pitch black color with a medium brown/tan head. A rich nose of smoke and roast, light mocha. A great stout: really sessionable....well maybe not at 9% but smooth roast, light dark fruit, sweet dark oils, coffee, lactose, metal, smoke. Very good. The oatmeal does lots for the palate. Great! A nice night for a stout.
