COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This big oatmeal stout is midnight black in color--with a big roasty, mocha-like aroma. It has a silky body from the use of rolled oats, and a round and lasting finish. Perfect as an after dinner treat.

Very dark in the glass with a beige head. It has an aroma of cocoa, vanilla and some sweetness like molasses. Taste is smooth with oatmeal up front and then more vanilla and licorice. It has a long finish that is well balanced.

Pours dark black with reddish dark brown head that fades slowly. Aroma is mocha, some chocolate. Taste is pretty nice, smooth mocha and chocolate flavors that get back up from some bitter hops, nice creamy mouthfeel. Not too bad, not awesome for an impy stout though.

Bottle from Beer Camp 12pk bought at Woodmans in the Falls. Pours very, very dark brown with a cafe au lait head. Terrific retention; still a consistent eighth inch head while halfway through the glass. Very little lacing. Aroma has expresso, caramel, molasses and oysters. Taste is of sweet molasses, roasted malts, bitter bakers chocolate and some earthy wood. Down through the glass the bitterness increases. Not thick, but solid in depth with almost no real alcohol presence. Finishes bitter with hints of saltiness and sweetness. A good one!

12 oz bottle from a Beer Camp 12pack purchased at Spirits Crossroads. Poured a pitch black solid body with an average to large full dense frothy beige head. Aroma had some initial hints of lactosse that quickly faded, followed by oats, light notes of sweet chocoloate, touch of soy and cola along with some cold pressed espresso. This is super smooth for a 9% and I would have sworn that this was 7% or under, most likely under, smooth softer carbonation and a velvety smooth mouthfeeel overall. Flavor of wet dark chocoalte, lightly burnt toast, dark chocolate, hint of cola, oats, light touch of vanilla and maybe some burnt oats. Solid beer.

Bottle. Poured an opaque dark brown color. The head was tall and billowy, light brown. Good retention and lacing. Roasty malt, milk chocolate, hay, and subdued anise aromas. Medium to full bodied and slightly sweet with a nice dose of roasty bitterness and a bit of warming alcohol. Roasty dark malt, dark chocolate, chocolate liqueur, and a splash of vodka.

12oz bottle. Rating #82. Dense black pour with a light tan head. Nice aroma, milk chocolate and a vert light roast and sweet dark fruit. Nice flavor as well, very light roast initially, but that grew a little more intense as it sat on my pallet. Creamy mouthfeel and very enjoyable. (2478)
