This big oatmeal stout is midnight black in color--with a big roasty, mocha-like aroma. It has a silky body from the use of rolled oats, and a round and lasting finish. Perfect as an after dinner treat.

12 oz bottle from a Beer Camp 12pack purchased at Spirits Crossroads. Poured a pitch black solid body with an average to large full dense frothy beige head. Aroma had some initial hints of lactosse that quickly faded, followed by oats, light notes of sweet chocoloate, touch of soy and cola along with some cold pressed espresso. This is super smooth for a 9% and I would have sworn that this was 7% or under, most likely under, smooth softer carbonation and a velvety smooth mouthfeeel overall. Flavor of wet dark chocoalte, lightly burnt toast, dark chocolate, hint of cola, oats, light touch of vanilla and maybe some burnt oats. Solid beer.

Bottle. Poured an opaque dark brown color. The head was tall and billowy, light brown. Good retention and lacing. Roasty malt, milk chocolate, hay, and subdued anise aromas. Medium to full bodied and slightly sweet with a nice dose of roasty bitterness and a bit of warming alcohol. Roasty dark malt, dark chocolate, chocolate liqueur, and a splash of vodka.

12oz bottle. Rating #82. Dense black pour with a light tan head. Nice aroma, milk chocolate and a vert light roast and sweet dark fruit. Nice flavor as well, very light roast initially, but that grew a little more intense as it sat on my pallet. Creamy mouthfeel and very enjoyable. (2478)

Bottle... Poured thick, oily black with a thin khaki head. Nose had significant roast and cooked oats. This was a thick, chewy beer. Full bodied, lots of depth and character. Mildly ashy and chalky with a good amount of sweetness, roast, oatmeal, milky and dark chocolate. Molasses and other bittersweet qualities too. Quite nice.

(12oz bottle thanks to blutt59) clear medium brown, barely a ring of fine tan bubbles. Nose of toasty milk chocolate, marshmallow, almond, oats. Taste of Milk chocolate, almond, lightly rich, fairly complex too. Nice beer.
