Damn this is good and I’ll tell you why. I love dark fruit flavors. Big time prune flavor. Very very strong flavors of chocolate, caramel and coffee. super duper tasty!. A hair too much carbonation. Bitter aftertaste that lingers. Smoke and peat. When I drink this beer I am transported to England.

Ooh, pours very dark to blackish with a shy head. Aromas of malted brownies, coffee, and sweet meat. Rich and full throttle on the nectar with creamy texture. Generous in character, sweet cocoa with exceptional bitterness that shows through to the finish through all this gobble-d-goop. Awesome beer.

Pours a rich dark brown with a nice frothy mocha colored head. Aroma of chocolate malts and smokey vanilla. Taste is amazing. Rich and creamy texture. Very full bodied. Lots of roasted oats and chocolate malts. Delicious. Sweet lingering finish.

This is a really lovely beer! Quite a clean dark biscuity aroma. Very thick and slick taste, there is a real explosion of flavour in this one - it’s like the oat is woven through but there are layer of other tastes; a treacle taste initially which develops into a biscuit taste and finally tapers off on a dark chocolate/coffee taste. Excellent beer with a lovely drinking experience - thick and heavy, and a delight to drink!

liquid silk. Roasty chocolate mocha yumminess. The %9 caught me off guardbecause this drinks as smooth as a %5. Funny they call the pilsener imperial in this twelve pack tthat’s like %5 but not the %9 oatmeal stout

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Bottle. Thick dark black pour, ring of dark carbonation and an aroma of rich roasted dark malt, chocolate and vanilla. Flavor is also creamy rich roasted dark malt, peat, a little soy sauce melded nicely with dark chocolate and finished slightly sweet. Solid beer in every way, I’d buy the hell out of this if it were available regularly

12oz bottle poured into a shaker. Pours black with a half finger of dark tan head. Aroma of chocolate and coffee with some tobacco and leather. Taste is coffee and dark chocolate. A little dark fermented fruit in there too. Full bodied with a thick texture. Lively carbonation and a very long finish. Overall, awesome. One of the best sierras ive had.

THOUGHTS: Very nice. I think they’re starting to get as good with imperial stouts as they are with hoppy beers.
TECNICAL: Drank 2/24/2013. Bottle. Poured a very dark brown that was nearly opaque black in the glass with a small, tan head that mostly diminished. The aroma contained moderate cereal, chocolate, coffee and chocolate syrup; cherry; tar; alcohol; dark fruits; tobacco; and hints of leather. The initial flavor was lightly sweet and moderately bitter; while the finish was moderately sweet and heavily bitter with a long duration. There was milk chocolate, dark chocolate, chocolate syrup, chocolate cake, lots of coffee, oats, licorice, tobacco, soy sauce, and tar. The very full body was oily and creamy, but sticky on the lips with soft but tingly carbonation and a moderately alcoholic finish.

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Draft at the Farmhouse - Poured a very dark black/brown in color with a medium-sized, very tight and creamy tan head that never really faded at all. Aroma is strong of dark roasted malts, cocoa/dark chocolate and caramel and/or molasses along with some coffee. Flavor is really big on the chocolate and dark roasted malts and to a lesser extent on the coffee. Beer is very thick and chewy... one of the best palates I have encountered. No hint of the high ABV. Really, Truly and Honestly Excellent!!
Unfortunately the keg kicked on my order, so I only got a half serving of this wonderful beer... until next time (hopefully)!!

330ml bottle from Archive. Pours thick black with a light chocolate layer of foam that slowly fades and then disappears. Heavy in the glass which is usually a sign of a good body. Full nose filling aroma and mouth filling flavour. Wells up in the mouth and penetrates deep into the back of the throat where the soft burn and mild bitterness settle.
