On tap at The Weekend Pub. Clear, dark amber with an eggshell head. Sweet caramel malt nose, citrus notes and a hint of woodiness. Zings off the tongue, lemon and orange citrus flavors layered over caramel sweetness, lemon peel appears late. Somewhat dry finish with a lingering bitter citrus finish. The 7.6% alcohol is well hidden - this can sneak up on you!

Pour on tap at Parry’s Pizza is clear red with slightly off white head, aroma has notes of slightly soapy, lemon hops, touch of oak like aromas, hints of biscuit, caramel notes. Taste is a bit soapy, but the lemon and oak saves it, some caramel, spice and earth round it out. Not bad.

Draft at County Grill, Hampton VA: Light wood aroma. Clear copper, thin yellow head, good lacing. Flavor is cherries and cedar. Medium body, frothy. Very woody with generic bittering hops. Reminds me of my first experience drinking an ale. I can’t remember the specific beer, but it was bitter and unpleasant.

On tap at Fireworks in Arlington, Virginia. Here’s the description: "Raiders of the Last Hops is an adventurous take on an Imperial Red Ale style. Using 100% estate-grown Chinook hops grown on-site in Sierra’s hop yard adjacent to the brewery and aged on toasted wood from a lemon tree. This beer has an intense earth hop-forward flavor, a medium body and a touch of Woody tannins at the finish. Bravo, Chinook, and Nelson Sauvin hops were used to make the beer along with pale & caramel malts." Well alright... pours a transparent, light brown with a creamy, lacing white head. Nose is malty, crackers, biscuit, a little fall fruit, some solid citrus, lemons, pine, a little light wood. The malt strikes you first in the flavor, sweet, malty, bready, crackers, a little bit of pine and lemon. Medium bodied, dry finish. Not spectacular by any stretch. Definitely needed more of a hop kick.
