750 ml bottle to snifter (thanks Dogbones). Looks good; a fairly opaque dark brownish black with light beige lacing. Smells malty and earthy; pretty vinous. Tastes like it smells with a solid mouthfeel. Enjoyable.

750mL bottle. Aroma is actually fairly hop forward even though this is a bottle from 2009. Some fruit esters and raisin and fig notes. A bit of oxidation. Hops have a dank woodsy character. Pours a nice dark brown with lighter brown highlights on the edges. Surprisingly nice lacing with medium legs. Flavor has some nice chocolate and roast notes. Sweet dark fruit esters - raisin and fig. Moderate bitterness. Some hop flavors, dank and woodsy - slightly faded. A touch of oxidation with some cardboard and sherry. A nice oat flavor is present. Low astringency. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency. Low alcohol warmth. Creamy, silky mouthfeel. Overall a nice American stout. The hop character is very noticeable compared to the other stouts tonight. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A - Served a dark black-brown color with a thin frothy layer of tan-chocolate head. The head fades down slowly leaving behind some good lace. S - Aroma is full of sweet roasted chocolate malts with some coffee. There is a touch of earthiness and dark fruit as well. T - Starts off with some sweet roasted chocolate malts with a touch of dark fruit. through the middle some more bakers chocolate comes through with some coffee and a touch of burnt malts. The finish is a mix of chocolate, roasted coffee, and a touch of earthiness. M - Medium-full bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a dry finish. D - Very drinkable. Overall nicely balanced. Could have used just a touch more body, but it is still a really nice Imperial Stout.

dark brown, thin cream ring with whisps. Burnt cocoa, bit lavender, fertilizer nose. Flavor is bit of chocolate, oat, and burnt grains. Bit thin, contrast of sweet and burnt elements.

750ml bottle: Pours a barely transparent dark mahogany with a spotty-lacing beige head. Has a lightly sweet toasty dark caramel and chocolate nose with a touch of nuts. Starts with average fullness and pretty good dark malty sweetness with some dark chocolate and bittersweet coffee before a drier roasty finish. A decent imperial stout, but could use some more complexity.

On cask at San Diego Real Ale Fest, Carlsbad (6/12/09): Aroma of lightly sweet roasty dark chocolate malt and lots of fresh resiny piny hops. Pours an oily opaque with a large, creamy, well-lacing tan head. Starts with good fullness and rich dark caramel and chocolate flavor with some crisp grapefruity hoppy bitterness before a drier, slightly earthy roasty bittersweet finish. A well-hopped enjoyable imperial stout. I’d like to see them bottle this for distribution.

750mL thanks to nmann08. Towering tan head with powerful retention atop black SRM. 360 sheets of lace. Perfumey and floral nose with sweet orange and lemon bitters. Small lavender and mild brine. Taste is dark chocolate, exceptionally silky with big ass spicy and waxy dark chocolate. Oh yes. Ultra waxy dark chocolate palate with big ass bitterness to balance. Huge imperial stout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
