On tap at the Falling Rock, apparently Chris Black was a part of brewing this beer. Nice orange color served in a pint glass(?). It smells like vinegar and weirdness. The taste is peppery, candy, really makes me think about what I am tasting. Very easy to drink. good beer but what else can you expect from Sierra Nevada. On tap @ Falling Rock poured a clear copper with a lasting ivory head. Aromas of spice, carmel, straw and light fruittiness. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of bread, spice, light carmel and light fruittiness with a smooth lingering spiced finish.

Pours with an orange gold body topped by a thin to medium thick head with a good amount of lacing. It is slightly sweet with light malt notes, clove accents and a bitter, grassy hope note. Light bodied, crisp and dry.

A blonde saison with a thick white head. An organic smelling ale with Brett, raspberries, epsom salts...wow! In mouth, a nice light saison with orange peels, smooth and fresh, coriander notes. Quite nice! On tap at Falling Rock Tap room, 24 Jan. 2009.

Tap at Toronado San Diego. Pale golden beer with a thin white head. Aroma is fairly soft and spicy. Light clove and cinnamon character over a fairly bready malt base. LIghtly peppery and quite spicy/fruity w/o the cloying sweetness that typifies US version of this style. Light cherryish fruitiness and a bit of clove/stone fruit pit spiciness. A bit of almondy character. Fairly straightforward yeasty component, but it’s still pretty nice.

Draft (Toronado SD): Filtered bronze color, a VERY solid sheet of off-white super tiny bubbled froth. Yeasty nose with notes of coriander and ash. First sip I tasted brett, but I didn’t taste that for the rest of the pint, which was weird. It was full bodied but had a somewhat wet mouthfeel. There was an adequate hop profile, at least to balance it out. The yeast certainly had a belgian/bubblegum charactersitc bt was overall pretty clean and not over powering. The finish has a slight tang to it.

On tap at Toronado SF. Yellow with a fizzy head, funky aroma, and a sweet fruity slight honey taste. Decent.

On tap at Falling Rock tap house- apparently a collaboration of sorts (by pub owners) brewed on Sierra Nevada’s 10 barrel pilot system. Looks just like a saison should- slightly orangy with maybe a slight chill haze. Bright white head with a fine texture.Smells strongly of coriander and orange peel. Almost wheat beer like in one regard, with some of the other spices coming though as the beer warmed up a bit. Drinks with a pleasantly light body, a hint of sweetness, and a reasonably defined spice prescence. The coriander and pepper flavors are dominant, although not overwhelming as are the fruity esters from what I can only assume is the yeast. Maybe a hint of caramel in here as well. Very impressed overall, as this is not my favorite style, but I found myself very pleased with this pint.Mouthfeel is great, being rather thick and gelatinous for what is otherwise a lighter gravity beer. Rather happy with this aspect of the beer as well. After my pint was through, I had to go, but I wanted to get another one. I could drink this all night for various reasons, not the least important of which is the fact that it tastes great. Get it if you can before it’s gone.

Draft. Amber beer with an off-white head. Nice spicy aroma with yeast. Spicy, yeasty flavor with light malt and light fruitiness. Medium body. Yeast, spice and light mineral lingers. Easy drinking.

Tenth rating on tap at San Diego Brewing Company. Suggested this one to a friend who liked Blue Moon styles. A big hit. I enjoyed the clove and spice and the hints of peach and pepper. Pretty good.
