3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: APR 3, 2004 2004 release:
Aroma: strong alcohol scent combined with sweet, carmel malts. a certain fresh fruitiness/herbal scent also exists.
Appearance: mohogany in color (reddish/brown tones)
Flavor: very hoppy; dry, slight taste of carmel malts
Palate: quite a bitter bite with lingering sharp aftertaste (like sharp cheese). really bites at the back of the tongue and the lips.
Overall: a bit too hopped for me, i like a little sweeter less stringent barley wine.
Aroma: 9/10: carmel malts, sweetness, honey, and brown sugar, along with deep alcoholic scent.
Appearance: 4/5: Cloudy, honey brown colour with slight, white head.
Flavor: 7/10: very sweet--hides the alcohol well. Slight hops and carmel malts, honey and brown sugar. Some earthy and mossy flavors.
Palate: 4/5: Incredibly smooth with hoppy bite. Dry-hopped aftertaste.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
First off I really enjoyed this and have for a few years now. I really think this a a MUCH better beer after a year of aging or so. The up front hoppiness is less biting and allows more of the malty goodness to come through. Buy some and keep it until 2005.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
aroma of hops and a little malt; deep brown with a medium tan head; smooth, thick feel; slightly sweet, but with a coffee-like bitterness that lasts, and a definite taste of the alcohol

4.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Full-bodied and loaded with tasty hops, Sierra Nevada Bigfoot Brandywine Ale is a wonderful beer! However do they train those sasquatch to make such a fine brew?

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours thick, dark amber/brown, moderate head that sticks around, good lacing. Hop profile of an IPA that's over powering at times. Palatte is very thick, 10 percent ABV is noticable as it warms. Needs less hops. Aging my last bottle to bring the malts out.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: MAR 4, 2004 Hoppy and bitter-sweet. It's great right from the shelf, but let one age for six months, and you will mellow the beast. I'm going to sit on as many as I can store.
Re Rate: I got to try Bigfoot on tap for the first time, and it was even better than the bottled version. The hops were snappy and the citrus flavors came through even more. There was more sweetness and a smoother finish. I'm bumping this even higher. Gotta love that sasquatch!

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Typically overbitter Sierra Nevada. When I'm in the mood for overhopped beers it's either them or Stone. Nice body with lots of round sweetness hiding behind a sharply bitter/oily hopiness. Drink warm.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nice beer. Dark amber red color. It's clear enough to see som suspended yeast in the beer. A strong citrus hop aroma that provides the biting hop presense in the flavor. It finishes bitter but warm with a hint of alcohol.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Very thick, smooth brew with a beautiful red-orange color. Flavor is pleasent. Inital taste is thick and sweet. A hoppy finish with a strong citrus (grapefruit in particular) flavor. My first barley wine-style ale. Very good!

*** 2001 ***
Beautifual floral aroma with mild hints of apricots and citrus. Flavor was complex and full. Initally the favor is malt that changes to mild apricot and citrus with a very suprising hop bite. Extreamly full and rich mouth feel that is very pleasing. This needs a higher rating everyone! Outstanding!
*** 2002 ***
Aroma was simular to the 2001 but much less complex and more mild. Flavor was very good but somewhat unbalanced.
