mgoy (343), Oak Brook, Illinois, USA Jun 1, 2008 Sierra Nevada Bigfoot barley wine is a mahogany amber color with a perfect caramel head. The aroma is full bodied and full of hops. The flavor is very hoppy with a bit of moss and malt noticeable. The finish is a bit dry from the bitter hops but also smooth and enjoyable. I am surprised this is 9.6% abv, as it is very tasty and easy to drink without any noticable alcohol characteristics. liinis (695), Helsinki, Finland Jun 1, 2008 in Teerenpeli Lahti a while ago. Damn it was bitter, very good. Fresh bitter hops, and good body. This can be barley wine? stas1023nj (6), New Jersey, USA does not count Jun 1, 2008 I’m amazed with the reviews this beer is getting; it was one of the worse beers I have ever attempted to drink. I say attempted because I could not finish the bottle...it was that bad. VTHopHead (890), Barre, Vermont, USA May 31, 2008 Bottle - Poured a beautiful dark reddish amber in color with a foamy light tan head that hung around. Aroma is strong of citrus/pine hops with some maltiness in the background. Flavor is very strong of piney hops balanced with a bit of malty sweetness in the finish. Alcohol is apparent in the profile, but does not detract from the overall experience. This is yet another example of a truly excellent beer from a quality beer... I really like this beer!! jrmac (210), USA May 30, 2008 Beer pours a dark brown with a good thick hed. Smells of hops, barley, and malt. Tastes much more hoppy then I expected from a barley wine. good brew. KnutAlbert (3101), Oslo, Norway May 30, 2008 Bottle at the Bull and Castle, Dublin.
