| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Apr 3, 2008 Poured a dark reddish color with minimal head. A little malt, and a lot of hops in the nose. The flavor was dominated by the hops, and fairly one-dimensional. Not one I’d have again. Vas19 (299), Maryland, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 3, 2008 2008 bottle. Pours dark red with a thin off-white head. Aroma is fruit, hops, and alcohol. The flavor is hoppy and bitter with alcohol and a hint of caramel. Not really what I like in a barley wine. This bottle may be too young. DocHop (278), Baltimore, Maryland, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 3, 2008 Beautiful ruby colored pour with a medium tan head. Delicious sweet caramel aroma with lots of hops, light appley fruit, and light alcohol. Intense bitterness for a barleywine. The sweetness doesn’t surface nearly as much in the flavor, only a little malty fruit in the very beginning then hops all the way, for a long bitter, slightly dry, finish. Actually a smooth caramel flavor comes out when this baby really warms up, give it time. imadeadguy (378), back in NJ!, New Jersey, USA

Aromas of plum, malt, hops, and caramel. Flavors of malt, lots of HOPPS, and a tad bit of alcohol in the finish. Impressive brew overall. I really want to see what an aged one is like...hummm
