BeerBlockaid (462), West Palm Biatch, Florida, USA Mar 14, 2006 Trade with yayforbeer. thanks haus! Pours a clean crisp amber redbrown. Nice lacing leaves decent tracks for any bigfoot hunters to follow. Nose is hops and some outdoorsey pine fragments. Possibly hitchikes on ol big’s fur coat. Taste packs a nice balanced punch of hops and grapefruit bitterness. Pine and oak malty taste, bayleaves, and a small vanilla whisk in there to satisfy any sweet teef. Really warms the body this one does and leaving it to open up is a real treat. let it warm a bit and breath out. Big Foot could kick all of our arses.
mgermani (599), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Sep 7, 2008 Pours a slightly cloudy brownish-red with a small layer of foam with a complex malty aroma with hints of hops as well. Tastes rather astringent with lots of fresh hops and a nice bitter finish. Good carbonation, great body. I suspect this would be much more remarkable when properly aged - it was probably just a bit green when I had it. Hearty and drinkable, but I’ll definitely cellar the next one I find. WakeandBake (45), Greenville, Michigan, USA Sep 7, 2008 Bottle.2008 Very nice color, and aroma, but the hops in the flavor we’re a little much for me. Going to buy another bottle and celler it to try in the future, should be much better Lt_Dan (37), Greater Los Angeles Area, California, USA Sep 7, 2008 Trademark Sierra Nevada hop scent, dark ruby red with a large fluffy head. Sweet and bitter, almost tasted the same when it was fresh in Jan 08. timfoolery (344), California, USA Sep 5, 2008 2008 bottle. A very good Barleywine put out by Sierra, the Bigfoot shows a different side of the company. Usually, all of their beers taste the same, due to their signature hops and process, but the Bigfoot is much more malty and tasty. I couldn’t drink it all night, but it’s great for sippin. NomDeBeer (150), Baltimore, Maryland, USA Sep 4, 2008 2008 bottle. Aroma is sweet caramel and floral hops. Mahogony color with a small off-white head. Taste is caramel, mabey a touch of peat, alcohol (but not too much), bitter citrus hops. Sticky mouthfeel that completely saturates the palate. Long after taste that seems to include a bit of oak Huge beer with very assertive flavors.
