Gold Medal Winner, Great American Beer Festival (Ales: Brown, Bitter and Pale 1987, Barleywine 1988,1992,1995). Sierra Nevada Bigfoot is an award winning example of the English Barley Wine style. It boasts a dense, fruity bouquet; an extremely rich, intense, bittersweet palate; and a deep, reddish-brown color. This ale is superbly balanced between an almost overpowering maltiness and a wonderfully bittersweet hoppiness.

2013 vintage. Pours light reddish brown with a dense creamy white head. Aroma is bread, light malt, straw, and floral hops. Taste is booze, sweet fruit, raisin, and fig. Syrupy on the palate, medium body, and a long bitter finish.

"one of the hoppier barleywines on the market, for better or for worse. i like this one to mix things up a little. not as thick or malty as others, but full bodied and delicious. Better fresh. "

Clear dark amber, thick tan head, streaks of lace. Taste is syrupy caramel malt with a lightly bittered edge in a finish that includes alcohol warmth. Strong, but very little change, start to finish. Good, not great.

12 oz bottle of 2013 vintage. The pour is a nice ruby color with a cream colored head that leaves a beautiful lace on the glass. The head does seem to fade right away. The aroma is initially very hoppy. There is a decent toffee presence and a nice malty profile on the back end, but the hopiness drowns out a bit here to start. The flavor is much of the same. The beginning is a bit bitter and then moves through the maltiness and caramel and toffee. The back end is a bit sweet. The mouth feel is a little thin and there is a light carbonation to try to help it out. The aftertaste is a little caramel-ish, but resoundingly bitter. 355ml bottle served in a mug. 2012 cap. A: Pours a deep clear amber color firming a medium yellow creamy head. Good retention and tons of lacings formed and left in the glass S: Delicious combination of toffee, caramel malts and American flowery hops. Biscuity T: Sweet upfront. Toffee, caramel, caramel malts. Dark fruit esters. Biscuity. Flowery citrus hops. Excellent bittersweet balance. Molasses. Practically no alcohol sensation despite of the considerable ABV M: Heavy creamy body. Good carbonation for the style. Sweet upfront and strong bitter aftertaste O: Excellent drinkability. Just one more quality Sierra Nevada beet [ BA Review @ 8/16/2012 ]

Hipster, does it exist in the sierras? Yes it does. On tap at brewery would be a 5+++++ this Bronson is the quintessential BW... How they mix the hops the grain malt character and do the dirty dancing with the Swaze...I dunno. Hops malt rich rich thick malts without the bitterness from the grains is stupendilicious...

Fin gyllengul krona. Mörkt rödbrun i färgen. Söt och fruktig och rejält med humle. Lagom bitter eftersmak med toner av grape. En rejäl öl på 9,6% . Bra grejer.

33 cl systembolaget. Drack denna hemma hos Anna och Joakim på midsommarafton. Jag måste bara säga att denna öltyp är grym.
