Commercial Description:
Gold Medal Winner, Great American Beer Festival (Ales: Brown, Bitter and Pale 1987, Barleywine 1988,1992,1995). Sierra Nevada Bigfoot is an award winning example of the English Barley Wine style. It boasts a dense, fruity bouquet; an extremely rich, intense, bittersweet palate; and a deep, reddish-brown color. This ale is superbly balanced between an almost overpowering maltiness and a wonderfully bittersweet hoppiness.

The aroma is very hoppy and grassy. The color is an unclear red and it has no head. The flavor is lovely hoppy and very dry, but also with notes of grass and oil. A simple beer, but very nice.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Very pretty, clear deep reddish brown. Fine, dense and very creamy head leaving an intense lacing in the glass. Sweetish in the first sip, some fat notes of sweet wine. But in an instant you’re swept away by an extreme hoppiness that strangles any more subtle notes. Long, long bitter finish. Overly hopped for my taste. 280505

Sampled young. Reddish brown. Thick. Super fuity, super bitter, super cascade aroma. Probably need to mature for some time to become perfect, which is what I intend to do with my 2nd bottle.

12 fl oz bottle, 2008. Pours almost clear golden amber with a huge light tan to orange head. Delicate fresh fruity hops aroma, light pineneedle note. Flavour is very hoppy and fruity. Light initial sweetness. Goes into a more dry and intense pinewood and bitter flavour before the finish. Goes rather dry and bitter, yet maintaining a rather fresh fruity hops note as well. Disregarding the style, this is nice IIPA.

Bottle. Cloudy dark amber color with a average frothy good lacing mostly lasting off-white head. Aroma is heavy hoppy, alcohol, sweet, caramel. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and heavy bitter with a average duration. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. Very nice ;o))

Bottle. Nice, strong hop aroma. Dark caramel colour, small head. Thick syrupy mouthfeel. Nice, quite strong bitterness. Astringent aftertaste, bitterness stays on the tongue for a very long time, getting a bit too tough for me.

Bottled. Darkish red, nice reddish head. Lovely aroma of wine (grapes) and a bit of alcohol. Pleasant aroma. Flavour is cranberries, bitterish and dry. Dry palate and very bitterish aftertaste. Nice one!

Redbrown colour with a small beige head. Nice aroma with lots of hops and sweetness with notes of fruit and alcohol. Sweet flavour of fruits and lots of hops. Long bitter finish.
