A black body with a rich tan head that had excellent retention with some lace. A nice roasted malt presence. Mostly grapefruit hops and a bit if smoke. Flavor had good balance between roasted malts and bitter hops. A bit too much grapefruit. A nice moderately dry finish.

Publix mixed pack for IPA Day. Wow this was nice. Great aroma that has a touch of nuttiness and coffee mixed in with the hops. Wonderful flavor that mixes dark roasted malt with green hops and a miss lingering bitterness. Wonderfully made.

Bottle (12 oz). Courtesy of Minderbinder, thanks! Black with a medium fully lasting beige head and good lacing. Aroma is of piney notes, grapefruits, roasted malt, chocolate, and fruity notes. Taste is slightly sweet with pine, grapefruits, chocolate, roastead malt and light to moderate bitterness. Medium body. Medium carbonation. Slightly oily moutfheel. Moderately dry finish. Very good Black IPA. Not too stout-ish. Well balanced. Drinkable and tasty. Very well done!

Pours black with low beige head. Some lacing. Aroma is of roasted malt, cold coffee. Taste is of roasted malt, coffee, sweetness, bitterness. Palate: Medium body. Soft-medium carbonation. Overall: Good, but I think my bottle was a tad too old to get full potential.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a very dark, clear, ruby-cola brown with a nice-looking, well-retaining khaki colored head. Roasted malty note are picked up on the nose. Citrus hops seem to alternately waft out. A little peppery on the tongue. Dark roasted flavors come through. Black pepper, a chemical quality, and an aggressive hop character.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
12oz, bottled 6/25 which makes it 39 days old. Pours a thin looking black with ruby edges and an off white head. Aromas of some roast, some pine, some citrus. Almost fruity in the nose. Taste is bitter both from the roast and from the hops, semi dry. Thinish mouthfeel. Flavors of light coffee, moderate hoppiness, decent roast. Pretty standard black IPA, nothing standing out to me here. Solid, if unremarkable.
