COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Blindfold Black IPA features a blend of hop varieties whose bright, fruity aroma complements the coffee-like flavors of dark roasted malts. Blindfold blankets us in darkness yet maintains a surprisingly light body and bold, hoppy character. This black IPA emerged from our Beer Camp program and builds on Sierra Nevadaís legendary love of hops with roasted malts for depth and complexity. Like its namesake, Blindfold is a bit disorienting--the color of a stout and the intense hop-forward flavors of a classic American IPA.

Bottle. Pours black with an off white head. Pine & citrus hops and roasted malt in the aroma and taste. Nice bitterness throughout.

Another hybrid via Sierra Nevada. Nothing wrong here, just nothing that make me too happy. Very assertive hops, with an odd medicinal note. These black IPAs donít always work. This one is okay.

Dark brown-black body, medium sized off-white/light tan head, dense lacing. Light roasted malts, a touch of coffee, earthy and piney hops as well as a touch of a citrus. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation, assertive bitterness, dry throughout, clean finish.

Bottle - Pours a clear, dark brown with a big, creamy, off-white head. Citrus aromas with some roasted malts. Nice toffee and coffee flavors with some citrus notes, finishing with some bitterness. Good combination of flavors that I like.

12 FL. OZ. Bottle. My heels are sore. Painful and aching. My spine hurts. Iím lightheaded. Thatís death sinking in. At some point everything starts dying. The point of no return. When the new growth stops and everything starts winding down. The inevitable cold dark stop awaits us all.

12oz bottle to sniffer. Nice light tan head about 2 fingers thick, extensive lacing. Dark roasted coffee aroma. Nice malty sweetness with mocha and dark chocolate. Bitterness of the hops is present but with minimal flavors. Nice dark deep brown near black color. Best of both worlds with the richness of a porter/stout and the bite of an IPA.

Pours a dark brown with a khaki head from a bottle. Aroma is a coffee, piney blend, flavor too. A little weird. Not sure I liked it, I guess it was okay.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a dark black with a slight red hue and a one inch tan head that lasts. Taste is of smoke, roasted malt, caramel, hops, citrus, resin an pine. Similar aroma. Has a full body with a fruity, dry finish. Easy to drink and rather enjoyable.
