COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Blindfold Black IPA features a blend of hop varieties whose bright, fruity aroma complements the coffee-like flavors of dark roasted malts. Blindfold blankets us in darkness yet maintains a surprisingly light body and bold, hoppy character. This black IPA emerged from our Beer Camp program and builds on Sierra Nevada’s legendary love of hops with roasted malts for depth and complexity. Like its namesake, Blindfold is a bit disorienting--the color of a stout and the intense hop-forward flavors of a classic American IPA.

A very dense frothy head. Wonderful aroma. Taste is a rich, roasted malt coupled with bitter hops. A perfect beer. Love the black IPA style!

Love this style. Big rich coffee toffe aroma with great earthy hop aroma. Flavor is crisp toast and crisp type of noble hop character. Finishes super crisp and clean. A great bIPA

Roasted chocolaty, citrus and pine aroma that pours a deep black, with a tan head. The flavor is full bodied with a distinct bitter/hoppy finish.

Pours pitch black with a nice milk chocolate colored head. It has a sweet, dark, and hoppy aroma. It starts off piney with hints of sweet chocolate with a bitter floral aftertaste. An excellent black IPA!

Intensive hoppy citrus and roasted malt aroma. Dark brown almost black body. Medium size long-lasting brown head with good lacing. Strong hoppy bitterness in taste with medium sweetness. Citrus fruits with toffe. Long-lasting bitter mouthfell. Definetly one of the best CDA’s.

UPDATED: JUL 16, 2014 Aroma of citrus and malts. Pours an opaque black with a mostly dissipating khaki head and sparse lacing. The taste is malt up front with a hint of white fruit in the middle and a wonderful grapefruit hoppy taste in the finish. Medium body with medium carbonation. Overall, this is an excellent beer. Will drink again. Good job, Sierra Nevada!. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a dark mahogany with a thick, light tan head. Smoky, woody, roast malt aroma has hint of coffee - and a lot of appeal. Hoppy, woody, smoky flavor features a touch of mocha. This beer successfully blends the characteristics of a good IPA and a quality stout. Smooth ,fizzy texture rounds out another winner from Sierra Nevada.

Pours dark ruby red, almost black, with a large tan head. Smells hoppy and roasty, hints of chocolate and coffee. Taste is mild earthy and piney hops and hints of chocolate and roast. Medium-bodied with a smooth texture and mild mouth-carbonation, Sierra Nevada Blindfold Black IPA finishes with a lingering almost roasted bitter bite.
