soccer290 (135), Highland Park, Illinois, USA Jan 21, 2009 Pint on draft. Poured a nice copper color with a decent sized white head that stayed for a while (though that might have just been because of a bad pour). There was barely any smell to it though, which was kind of disappointing; a little bit of hops, but that was all. Tastes of malt and hops, but it was boring, nothing wrong with it, but certainly nothing exciting. screigh (253), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA Jan 19, 2009 Pours a nice looking copper color. Off-white head with nice lacing. If I sniff real hard I get a bit of sweetness but no pine or anything else. Mostly bitter taste but has some malt to back it up. While I like this it doesn’t taste much different than the pale ale, just add more bittering hops. aletales (73), , Oklahoma, USA Jan 18, 2009 Way too hoppy for my taste. Maybe someday I will have acquired the necessary discriminating ability to fairly critique such a hoppy beer. smaynard6000 (66), New Castle, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 18, 2009 Pours a deep copper color with a frothy tan head. Aroma is dominated by pine and citrus. Nice strong hoppy bitterness to this ale which has a citrusy finish. Very nice beer. Hopdropandfall (3), Long Valley, New Jersey, USA does not count Jan 16, 2009 Absolutely Delicious Brew! This along with Flying Dog Snake Dog IPA are my 2 favorites. Buy a keg, it’s even better on tap jimmay (179), Waterloo, Ontario, Canada Jan 16, 2009 2008 bottle, sampled at Grand River Brewery. Pours dark/mid amber colour, decent head, with fine carbonation. Flavour and aroma dominated by hops. Very hoppy for a winter ale. Petrucci914 (574), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Jan 13, 2009 2008 Bottle. Pours reddish-hued golden color with a medium to thin bubbly off-white head which leaves a nice web of sticky lacing. Aroma is citrus, and piney and grassy hops. Bitterness hits you right away but then fades into a decent malt backbone and some citrus. A solid session IPA. ElDuderino (136), Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, USA Jan 12, 2009 Bottle, pours a nice transparent orange body with a thin pure white head. Lots of grapefruit in the nose along with some pine needles and wet grass. The hops and bitterness come out right away on my tongue, forcing the very tip to bunch up and numb just slightly. The flavor is crisp and fast with notes of pine needles, citrus peel and a sweet malty backbones that helps everything come together. Really a well balanced beer, perfect to mix in and extend an all night session.
