bretupdegraff (172), Fishers, Indiana, USA Dec 23, 2008 dark coppor pour with massive head that lasted forever leaving nice lacing. I almost had to get a spoon out...taste is bitter, spicy and hoppy! Yum - aftertaste is very smooth and pleasing to the palate. Mouthfeel is well carbonated and nice. Good thing I bought plenty of this. Merry Christmas. Dredd (484), Ormond, Australia Dec 23, 2008 Nice well balanced beer this one. Deep amber with minimal beige head. Aroma is a nice sweet hoppy aroma. Flavour is a mix of really nice upfront sweetness that finishes with a firm but pleasent hop bitterness. Rciesla (3515), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA Dec 23, 2008 2008 bottle. Pours an amber body with a 1 finger off white head. Sweet malt, and citrus floral hoppiness. Spicy hop resins with a light grassy body. Has a nice grapefruit character leaving a a full spicy tart finish. Good brew. craftbeerdesign (731), Alpharetta, Georgia, USA Dec 22, 2008 Updated: Dec 23, 20082008 bottle. pours a deep golden with a quarter inch white head. very pleasant big hop citrus hop aromas. good and sticky over the mouth with a solid hop driven medium body. spicy up front and even over the top and sides. has a nice bitter finish, but does not stick with you all that long. A solid IPA from SN. lithy (1600), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Dec 22, 2008 2008 bottle, slight hazy copper red with a thin off white head. Big hop aroma, mostly spicy with hints of grapefruit and floral notes. The taste is a big spicy malt base with a piney sort of floral and herbal hop finish. gpekar (221), Maryland, USA Dec 21, 2008 A 2008 bottle. Poured a slightly hazy golden amber with a tall creamy off-white head. There was a small amount of carbonation bubbles rising in the glass. There was a mild hop aroma and a nice hop bite on the initial taste. A bit of a citrus flavor developed and rolled into a mild hop bitterness on the finish. blazingspiral (39), Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA Dec 21, 2008 Another solid Sierra seasonal. Deep copper hue, red highlights. An easygoing head forms toward the end of the pour. Aroma of strong American hops, very herbal, almost smells illegal. Rough bitterness in the flavor, not for weak taste buds. This year’s crop of Celebration seems extra hoppy, minimizing the malt sweetness, and leaning toward some interesting earthy flavors. Tumeric, nutmeg, and lemongrass come to mind. It has a complicated flavor that will keep people occupied during these long Winter nights. miketd (679), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Dec 21, 2008 On tap at The Brew Kettle, 2008 vintage. Pours a dark amber with a decent white head. Aroma is nutty and grain with earth notes and subdued hops. Flavor is malt, grain, wet grass and earth. Palate is ok. Meh.
