rds (224), USA Dec 9, 2008 Clear, dark amber body with a light tan head. A very pleasant surprise here with strong hops; a finely balanced ale for a cold day. lebshiff21 (85), Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 8, 2008 Tasty IPA. Why dont they brew this year round? On tap in my kitchen. Pours amber with full white head. Mouthfeel is great. Lots of hops, a little piney, citrus, good malt character. I like it a lot. FriarHop (31), Long Beach, New York, USA Dec 8, 2008 Bottle. Pours a beautiful golden amber and forms a nice full head. A great IPA, very drinkable! weezfour (122), Oradell, New Jersey, USA Dec 8, 2008 Super! Nice dark, complex beer, but goes down smooth as anything. Can we have this all year plz? sja14 (105), Ohio, USA Dec 8, 2008 An amber beer with a hoppy nose. Decent balance with somewhat overpowering hoppy flavor. Cascade piney bitter floralness. Chipper (179), Red Lion, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 8, 2008 Dark amber pour with a moderate tan head. Huge hops aroma with some tasted malt and spice. The hop flavor is bigger than expected and the viscosity thicker than than expected as well. Heavy lingering finish and it seems to have a bigger ABV than the listed 6.8. Excellent brew. chandler0201 (341), Durham, North Carolina, USA Dec 8, 2008 2008 Edition. Amber pour with tan-ish head. Hoppy aroma with some hint of seasonal spices. Flavor of hops and some bitterness in the aftertaste. Mediocre compared to some of the IPAs I have had. spikester (602), Salem, Oregon, USA Dec 7, 2008 2007 bottling.
Amber with one-half inch of off-white head. Good amount of lacings.
Aroma is floral hops.
Taste is bitter citrus hops, caramel malts, some leather, trace of butter, and a dry bitter finish.
Not very sessionable at 6.8% abv but very nice beer overall.
