This was an ’04 on tap at O’Brien’s. The aroma was piney & citrusy w/ hints of flowers and a slight light fruit sweetness. The flavor was full of grapefruits and pine w/ a slight light fruit appeal. The beer poured a brownish orange color w/ very slight head and lacing. The mouthfeel was light and carbonated w/ great bitterness.

Very Nice. I really liked this. Very bitter but it immedietly grows on you. Hides the 7% abv very well and it sneaks up on you at the end of a 6pack. Overall really nice

Jan 08 Bottle from Bitter Virtue. Much better this time. Good hop aromas, some grainy malts and without the astringency I found before. 3.6
Feb 05 Bottle. Spicy pine aromas. Pine grows leaving a piney astringency. Strength apparent with lots of bitterness. 2.8

Very hoppy nose, citrusy and piney, good fruityness too. Body is dark orange to golden, with a small white head on top. Fruity flavor, some malt and ends with good hop bitterness. Very nice one!

UPDATED: DEC 3, 2006 I have had bottles of this, Poured amber, with a off-white head. Aroma of malts and hops pine and alcohol. Mouth feel is mid level but there is a kick in this alcohol. Nice, can’t wait to age a few of these.
re-rate of a 2004 1-28-06
Beautiful a cloudy amber color. Tan fizzy head, left real good lacing. Nose was hops, then faded to malt. Carbonation was balanced well with sour malt. Bitter hops first, and a sub dude hop ending. The alcohol is felt but not really taste much, unlike the New-fresh ones. Improved well with age. I have another to next year.
"04 re-rate Nose is mild hops and some malt. Much easier to drink, still very tasty and potent.

UPDATED: JUL 26, 2007 Bottle from Sainsburys. Deep brownish copper. White head. Aroma is hops, hops and more hops. Piney and resiny with a citric aroma and background alcohol. Flavour is malt and dead bitter with a load of piney american hops and strong alcohol character. Floral and fruity, citrus fruit (grapefruit) and sweet malt. Really great, tasty US beer. My favourite American beer to date.

on tap 2/14/2005. lovely amber/copper color, decent head retention leaving behind a thick trail of lace. aroma is pleasing showcasing this brew’s hops. the taste is very well balanced. and becomes more carmely as the beer warms. medium bodied with a nice lasting bitter/slightly spicy finish. i would definately have this again.
