Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale represents a time honored tradition of brewing a special beer for the holiday season. There are generous portions of barley malts and fine whole hops of several varieties, creating a brew with a full, rich and hearty character.

The Celebration poured a copper-amber color with a nice thick, creamy head with fine bubbles that retained to the bitter end. Very nice smelling with a nice hop and spiciness balance with some floral tones. Interesting taste - medium to full bodied with a spicy, slightly sweet, initial taste with some subtle malt and fruitiness. Then come the hops! A very hoppy finish, a little too bitter for me. Overall, the Celebration is a very interesting beer. The hoppy, bitter finish and aftertaste is a little too overwhelming for me and detracts from the taste and drinkability of the beer.

Wow talk about hops. Both in the nose and taste. Dark amber in colour with a thing white head with excellent amounts of lacing on the glass. Like I said, very hoppy in the nose and taste.

2003 VINTAGE: Hoppy all the way! I didn't expect a winter seasonal to be so hoppy, but I was delighted. Reminds me of ruination, but this is more balanced. The aroma jumped out at me from the glass - 3 feet away!

UPDATED: NOV 1, 2004 2003 - wonderful batch - love the deep red copper color and nice head - bitterness is very well balanced with the malt. It is easy to drink many of these in one session ;-) 2004 - a little less perfect than 2003, but excellent nonetheless. hoppiness not quite as apparent in the nose, and slightly off balance in the bitterness.

UPDATED: DEC 31, 2006 I love the complex, festive nature of this ale! The barley and the hops are just right in this... if only it had a little bit more bitterness, it’d be my fave beer!

UPDATED: OCT 29, 2004 2003: Wonderful flowery aroma, along with a nice copper body. Full of flavor. 2004: Dark copper color with a nice white head. Tangy citrus aroma with malt & pine resin the flavor, backed by citrus and nice residual bitterness. Spicy. Delicious.

BIG hops in the aroma. Smells like an IPA for sure. Wonderful copper color, nice head. Sweet hoppy goodness makes this a wonderful example of the style. Mmm...Sierra Nevada

UPDATED: APR 27, 2008 Deeep amber colour with hints of red. Some haze. Wonderful creamy white head. Hoppy and fruity aroma (citrus, herbs, nuts). Nice hoppy flavour with hints of lemon, hazelnuts, caramel and herbs. Small spicy alcohol notes in finish. An exellent x-mas brew! Tasty!

Beautiful looking brew that I just want to jump up and celebrate. Beautiful head, especially in my la chouffe glass. Makes life feel like the holiday season immediately. Very full feeling and the alcohol flavor is somewhat noticable. Very hoppy, so hopheads will love it. Let the party begin.

UPDATED: DEC 4, 2004 Good quality IPA. Wouldn’t add anything to it, wouldn’t take anything away. Nice bitter finish. (They should make this year round; and just call it an IPA!!)
