1.4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20
This beer has the best aroma. I got my first 6 today and it smells exactly like a pine tree and tastes like one going down your throat. extremely hoppy. The one bad thing I personally am not fond of is the extremely bitter aftertaste. However this is truely a winter only beverage. Gives the sensation of holiday spirit with the smell of pine right under your nose.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz bottle: pours a reddish orange rust color with a creamy head andthe aroma of malt and citrusy hops. slightly sweet aroma. the flavors is a nice up front balanance of bitterness and maltiness that is very resfreshing. a nice toasted malt body, which blends with a resiny citrusy hop flavor that balances the slighty sweet beer a very smooth balanced ipa that reminds me of 60 minute.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: JAN 12, 2005 Pours a rich creamy head. Typical amber IPA color. What sets this beer apart is its intensity. In both aroma and flavor, itís as if the volume has been turned up 3 notches over the typical IPA (including Sierra Nevadaís own flagship brand). In its intensity, this beer delivers plenty of hop bitterness to counteract "floral acridity" present in some less well-crafted IPAís, some of which nevertheless remains subliminalized in this beer. I can say however, that I rather enjoyed Sierra Celebration.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: MAR 16, 2010 I have had this one a few times in the past but not recently so I decided to try it again, especially as I am rather fond of their regular pale ale. sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a caramel color with a medium sized tan head. There was a nice flowery hop aroma. The flavor was nicely malty, a bit sweet and had a strong flowery and grapefruity hop presence. There was a light hop bitterness on the finish. A nice IPA overall with a good malt balance.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
2004 bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white, mostly lasting. Color is a translucent reddish-amber. Aroma is moderately hoppy (grapefruit, resin), sorta malty (toasted grain), with a nice yeast chaser. Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately bitter, moderately acidic. Finish is lightly sweet, quite bitter, moderately acidic. Medium body, creamy texture, lively carbonation, with some astringency. I like this better than their Pale Ale. Iíll have to leave a sixer for next year!

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: NOV 5, 2007 Sampled from 2005 bottle. Spicy, almost overdone in that department. Age doesnít sit well with this one. Not enough malt and hops to overcome some stale spices. Well, thatís just my opinion.
Bottled, 2004 Edition. Big, big IPA hoppiness, but not much else to set it apart. Some kind of fruitcake character, probably as in a slight fruit and nut overtone.

I had this one out of the bottle. It poured a nice head that laced down the glass and was still there long afte the ale itself was gone. A very nice citrusy hoppy flavor and aroma with a sweet malt base and enough bitterness to give you a fat lip. All in all I enjoyed this and will again.
