hoplover (166), Corpus Christi, Texas, USA Jun 10, 2008 Updated: Oct 29, 2008It pours a beautiful clear amber color, with an off white medium head that is very dissapating head that leaves ok lacing. The aroma is nice with citrus and a little pine in the nose, and pale malt. The flavor is not so mcuh hops as is mild bitterness and toasty pale malts. A lot more hop flavor would be nice. The palate couldv’e been a little more smooth, I like the dryness in the finish. This is an alright IPA by me, but nothing that really Wow-ed me. kiefdog (1567), Tampa, Florida, USA Jun 7, 2008 Updated: Dec 28, 20082008 bottle (12oz) from Total Wine (Tampa, FL). Pours a hazy dark amber color with a one finger tan frothy head that settles slowly and laces the glass. Aroma is sweet and floral with notes of hops, citrus, grapefruit, pine, some hints of caramel and honey. Flavor is sweet and citrusy with notes of pine, grapefruit, hops. Generally medium body with a bitter hoppy finish. Good for an IPA style beer, but not what I envision when I think of Christmas or holiday beers. This is just too hoppy joekinty (263), rockledge, Florida, USA Jun 5, 2008 amber big white head fruity peach apricot very malty with a dry finish with some citrus 502Flavors (617), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Jun 3, 2008 12 oz. bottle into a pint glass. Poured a nice honey smber brown with just the right carbonation and a lasting head. The aroma was dominated by american, west coast hops with hints of grapefruit, citrus, and flowers. It exhibited a solid hop flavor with a nice balance of bitterness and hop flavor. Medium bodied on the palate and very drinkable and refreshing. Overall: solid IPA. Rogueone (506), I F&ckin’ hate those guys from, Ohio, USA Jun 2, 2008 6 mo. old bottle sampled at Alan’s HSC initiation, thanks Bill: I really find I can’t go wrong with Sierra Nevada. Average perhaps, but not wrong. Light orange pour, aroma of fresh citrus rind and winter fir. Flavor is citrus hop with a very nice toasted malt backbone. jlizard (8), Richmond, California, USA does not count May 28, 2008 Nice nighttime cool weather beer. Great head and nice appearance, but the overall taste is a little less punchy then the aroma would indicate. I’m good for 12oz of this stuff with a late dinner. TeamTrappist (364), jericho, New York, USA May 25, 2008 07, 12 oz bottle. Poured a ruby red, with a small head. Fruity hop nose. Definitely a piny floral hop flavor to it, similar to the pale ale flavors, but with much more flavor and body.It has some form of winter type evergreen spice in there, one that I could not discern. the finish is fairly bitter, and fairly long lasting. Nice tasting and good quality beer. dkachur (2318), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA May 23, 2008 Bottle from cdumler’s fridge. Pours a pale slightly hazy red with a large frothy head. Good lacing and retention. Floral hop notes make up most of the aroma. Citrusy hop taste... very bitter but fairly smooth. Slight medicinal finish.
