henk21 (5), Sweden does not count Feb 19, 2008 Bottle at home: Aroma of pine(no shit!), some burnt sugar and spicy hops quite refreshing! beautiful amber colour.. Taste is acidic, different citrusfruits mainly lime and pine. A good bitterness but comes out little to acidic..lightly sour. A good one def not the best nimrod (53), USA Feb 16, 2008 12oz draught with small head and nice lacing. This is a nicely balanced IPA with the usual citrus tones. It was not overly bitter with a grapefruit and caramel flavor. I couldn’t make anything out unique aroma wise. Great taste and easily drinkable. BEERGUY007 (206), Scotia, New York, USA Feb 16, 2008 Got a growler of this at Glenville beverage. Pours a translucent brown, a little head. Smells of hops and tastes like grapefruit juice. It was alright, not my fav though. Reminds me of Stone Ruination in flavor. ChrisJ (100), Warrenton, Virginia, USA Feb 16, 2008 Bottle. I am frequently underwhelmed by Sierra Nevada’s offerings so I went into this tasting with a healthy amount of skepticism. Poured in amber with a small light beige head. The aroma was sweet, citrusy and fruity. The flavor was surprisingly well balanced. Some sweetness from the crystal malts was well complimented by the hoppy citrus bitterness which have made this beer so popular. I also dteced some caramel as well as some spice. The finish was slightly bitter with a light to medium mouth feel. Very nice! mybestfriend (261), Gothenburg, Sweden Feb 16, 2008 Updated: Mar 2, 2008Bottle. Amber pour with an off-white head. I did not get all that much on the nose - some malty dried apricots. The flavour profile begins with some sweet malts, but this beer is all about the hops and bitterness. The grapefruit peely bitterness gets bigger and bigger for every sip you take. The finish is a bit salty with some roasted notes and bitterness. malachikoop (3), Chicago, Illinois, USA does not count Feb 13, 2008 this is by far the best winter ale out there, but i think that may have to do with the fact it’s not really a winter ale at all. great head retention, dark golden red color. great floral aroma, the bitterness holds on as you would want it to in the winter, but the malt backbone balances out this brew nicely. Botnik (102), Carrollton, Texas, USA Feb 12, 2008 Updated: Dec 11, 20082008, 12oz bottle. My favorite seasonal, four years running. Aromatic, spice, sweet, and bitter in excellent balance. Tastes very good at 34 deg F and even better at 52 deg F. Fluffy lingering head with great lacing. btuthill (6), USA does not count Feb 12, 2008 Poured from a bottle with thicker than expected head. Sticky lace starts early and follows the entire beer. Full-bodied citrusy hop flavor. Perhaps too much alcohol flavor. Finishes clean and bitter. Enjoyable beer.
