docsteigs (139), USA Dec 31, 2007 Light amber, huge head from bottle. Pleasant aroma and clean taste. Nice mix of hops/spices/malts. Clean finish. Very drinkable. shanepardue (107), Raytown, Missouri, USA Dec 31, 2007 Light head, lighter shade of amber This beer reminds me of their excellent IPA with it’s bitterness, but also has the spices that many holiday ales like to boast. Good bitterness and flavor. Good beer. doubleo (1096), San Diego, California, USA Dec 31, 2007 Pours a reddish brown color with a frothy off-white 2 finger head. Smells malty but hoppy at the same time, smells of caramel as well. Tastes like malt with a bit of hoppy bitterness. The finish tastes of red berries as well. Kind of thick but not really. Crisp carbonation.
It’s an alright brew, not my favorite. bkurtz (276), Peru Dec 31, 2007 Draft. Poured amber with a small head. Citrus aromas and hoppy. I really liked this well balanced ale. blipp (1631), Newark, New Jersey, USA Dec 30, 2007 Bottle. Appearance: Clear amber, light beige head. Aroma: Sweet citrusy hops. Palate: Medium. Flavor: Hops, citrus (grapefruit maybe?), very light pine comes out as it warms. Overall: Didn’t realize this was an IPA when I bought it, although it became pretty obvious as soon as poured it. Other than that, I still cant figure out why this is a holiday beer... the piney taste is mild at best. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a pretty good IPA, especially for the price, but it shouldn’t be a seasonal brew. theisti (1640), Leawood, Kansas, USA Dec 30, 2007 12 oz. bottle purchased at Lukas, KCMO. Pour is golden, orange amber, clear with a one inch off white head. Aroma of resin hops, malt and a touch of pine. Taste is big, resinous hops. Bitter from start to finish. Nice earthy / citrus after taste. The hop is really bright on this one, though there is a decent amount of malt to balance it out. Nice IPA. pericles35 (24), Somerville, Massachusetts, USA Dec 30, 2007 malty flavor with hints of citrus and pine. Excellent Christmas beer perfect for the beer lover who does not like the "cookie-flavored" Christmas beers. Acknud (770), Morganfield, Kentucky, USA Dec 30, 2007 Excellent Sierra Nevada offering. Dark Golden, medium soft head. Aroma of a pine forest. Taste is sharp citrus with a pine influence. Very drinkable. I would like to have this as a regular drinking staple.
