joshwilfong (769), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Dec 22, 2007 almost like a souped up and improved version of their pale ale. a very nice beer with a great malt component then an obviously strong finish. a well deserving highly rated beer Naka (524), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 21, 2007 12 oz bottle Christmas gift from dpjuart. Pours a deep amber with a red/orange tint. Medium foamy head that disappeared quickly. Strong floral and citrus hops in the nose. Very tasty pine and grapefruit hop flavor, but enough malt to balance it out. My wife hates hops yet didn’t mind this beer. Leaves a good bitterness in the mouth, but lacks the tasty spices that most other holiday beers have. popdoggy (100), USA Dec 21, 2007 had the 2007 version. Was really hoppy, warm, not overdone. more barley than their pale ale... I heard it cellars well for a year. so save one if you can, biotch. IPAsavedMYlife (32), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Dec 21, 2007 Man, what a dry, smoky/piney IPA. Love it. Not to much in the way of carbonation, as the head went away almost imediately. The aftertaste is strong of citrus and grapefruit. If only this didn’t cost 11 bucks a six pack i’d drink it every day. Jabswitch (206), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Dec 20, 2007 Nice rich amber color with a darker filmy head. Lively carbonation and a distinctive hoppy bitterness. No frills with the taste - not much of a citrus background as some IPAs have. It’s a fine beer, somewhat of a thirst quencher. GriffinAvenue (395), Winchester, Massachusetts, USA Dec 20, 2007 Bottle. Deep caramel in color. Limited 1/2" head. Malty, butterscotch, sinnamon, coriander. medium to thin body. Acidic and richer flavoring is overwhelmed by the carbonation. Unpleasant bitter finish. OK, but not much of a celebration . imzugzug (103), Bechtelsville, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 19, 2007 Deep dark orange pour with a nice lacy white head that doesn’t stick around long. First sip was too cold so I let it sit for a few. Second impression was better with lots of malts and strong apple and caramel flavors. Is it possible for it to be both sweet and dry. Sweet in your mouth but the feeling once it’s swallowed is quite dry. I probably should mention that this is from 2005 and has been properly stored. I’m left wondering if this should have been enjoyed fresh. No worries, it’s definitely not a drain pour weaselkenievil (738), Cheshire, England Dec 19, 2007 I think my first sierra nevada drink, a bottle from Tesco unfkingbelievably. Very nice indeed and I’ll be having more. Smells like a brewery, like a proper pub smell. Brought back memories of being sixteen and going in old mans pubs in Stockport because it was the only place we could get in. Smells a bit like the red fruit pastilles, nice amber colour, ooh tits on the telly
